Today we’d like to introduce you to David Gaynoe.
David, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Having been raised with an appreciation for patriotism (my father, uncle and grandfathers all served) along with my sense of adventure, I served in the U.S. Marine Corp through my early 20’s followed by a transition into bartending. These experiences instilled in me a sense of teamwork, leadership and the focus on serving others.
I then returned to school and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and started the next chapter in my life when I joined Ernst & Young as a Staff Auditor 6 weeks before my 31st birthday.
Two years later, I joined Cox Enterprises’ Audit group which served as a springboard to gain a diverse skill set working while working within the Cox enterprise.
Today, I am in an International Sales and Marketing leadership role. It has been a perfect fit, aligning with my entrepreneurial spirit and drive.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I don’t know if it was smooth or not, but it definitely has had a lot of twist and turns. I have been fortunate to come out on top and I am a better person for it today,

RMS Automotive, a Cox Automotive Brand, delivers a global enterprise software solution that enables our commercial clients to manage their portfolio(s) across the complete vehicle lifecycle from new car build to used car sale. Our services deliver real-time integration with a client’s platform, faster remarketing time, reduced depreciation, cost of capital, improved residuals and reduction in wholesale losses.
I joined RMS Automotive when it was relaunched as a standalone business in 2014. It has been a lot of fun being part of the journey from the very start, expanding our global footprint with a team of 100+ people in 6 countries.
Our culture is what sets us apart. Cox Enterprises has been around for more than 100 years with simple guiding principles – do the right thing for our customers, communities and for each other.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck plays a role in meeting the right people at the right time. It decides who comes in our life, and when.
