Hi Victoria, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Haus Fashion and online women’s boutique was launched this past June 2020. I wanted to gift myself with something for my 25th birthday… so why not a whole business? (during a pandemic) I started prepping Haus Fashion a year before that and planning and strategizing on what I wanted in my own brand. Fashion has been a huge part of who I am… I remember being in private school and always feeling like my freedom was stripped from me because of my uniform so I always tried to add “flair” to my boring button-up along with khaki pants. Oh boy! It was tragic… But then on the other hand, I was also a dance kid and I got to wear some of the most elegant costumes with Swarvoski crystals and all the frill you could imagine. Growing up, styles fade in and out… but when I thought about it and my brand, I wanted to create FASHION, not just styles that can be worn and forgotten.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Heck No! In the good words of so many others… “The Struggle Is Real!” I found myself so frustrated and endlessly tired but I knew what I had was and is going to be monumental. My biggest struggles were and still are figuring out what to sell… What will be the next big thing… What will my audience like? What do they want? I am all about my business and what will be better for my customers and future customers. Alongside of not having an assistant to organize, stock, check inventory, check shipments, mail out orders, etc. But I find the joy in it all… I like being busy and honestly, that struggle gives me a little push and keeps me motivated to keep going. “There is no reward without sacrifice.”

How do you think about luck?
Luck is tricky… I will say I have definitely gotten lucky when it comes to my business and working during a pandemic. But I will also say hard work has attributed to my success. Long hours, deep research, marketing properly. It all plays a role when starting a business. I believe luck can happen to anyone and things can run smoothly… but to be top tier and to have your work looked at for years and years to come with an outstanding legacy, I believe it starts with a drive. My drive is what fuels me to be better and to make HF better. That’s what sets you apart from the rest.
