Daily Inspiration: Meet Luh BlessedChild

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luh BlessedChild.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born and raised in Austell, Georgia by a Nigerian household. Growing up. I was really observant of my surroundings and always took in what was around me. I was really introduced to my creative side by my sister early on. She’d do art projects and she’d play all the new music out at the time. So seeing her do that made me gain the confidence to be myself and original when it came to art, whether it’s music, clothes, etc. I always had it in the back of my mind that I would become an artist from an early age, but I never really tapped into it until after high school. Once I graduated, I ran into a producer name Johntaae who really introduced me to the music scene. I would practice making lyrics to his beats and he would continuously improve his beat making.

We were both naturally competitive so watching each other improve everyday made us get better. I finally decided to put my lyrics on beats around December last year and would record my first song with Brev and with the help of my cousin VillageBoi Kachi assisting me on formatting my music. From then on, I just started to run with the music scene while capturing a deal form Select Model Atlanta that same year. Since then, I’ve just been working my hardest to create the best content I can. I mostly run with family because us, Igbos know how to run business really well. I went on to go under the wing of my cousin Tobemnk. She became my manager and started showing me the true ropes of the music business. Since running into these blessings put in my way I’ve continued to work hard and prepare myself to take over the next generation of music because I believe I have the ability to create something entirely new. And I’m ready to show the world my untapped sound.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Yeah, there were a lot of struggles while growing up, more so family issues. I didn’t come from a perfect two-parent household so I had to learn how to become a man on my own at a young age. But, I never let that determine the person I would become. I didn’t come from a well off or rich family either so I had to work ten times harder for anything that God would bless my mother and sisters with. Also, I’m not afraid to admit I wasn’t the best with my mental health until now, but I’m getting better. Moving forward, I’m trying to learn as much as possible and focus on my craft. Putting my focus into my creative craft has allowed me to tap into that spiritual side of myself and helped me become a better person overall.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I can’t really put myself into a specific category of just being a rapper. I believe I’m just a true creative, honestly going from modeling to making music and even clothing. I just have a true passion for creating my own artwork. I take great pride in knowing that I make music that stands in its own lane. I’ve never looked to another artist or mimicked anyone. I just focused on making great music with the goal of becoming better with each song. I always look for the smallest fixes to improve my craft every time. Being better than my last is what keeps me going. I want to make art that will outlast me and inspire future generations.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Please take care of your mental health. It’s not an easy battle but every attempt to be better than before is progress. Legends didn’t become legends overnight. Fight your battles at your own pace. Also, looking out for your fellow human being and having a good heart will get you further in life.
