Rising Stars: Meet Omeshia Ferguson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Omeshia Ferguson.

Hi Omeshia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was always in pageants when I was a kid and absolutely hated but I loved to dress up! I started having whoever I could find take photos of me whenever I got dressed up. One day I got picked by one of my favorite influencers, @flawsofcouture on Instagram to model for her pop-up shop and she asked me if I was a model or trying to actively model. I said “kinda,” then she said, “oh no. You NEED to” since then, I’ve been on it.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t been. I had to put a lot of time and energy and money into pursuing modeling. I’ve had to drive Lyft so I could pay for photoshoots to add to my portfolio.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a model, influencer and student! I am most known for my fashion influencing via Instagram and Twitter. But modeling is my passion! I have been very transparent about my journey into the modeling world I’m not where I’d like to be yet, but I plan to keep everyone updated every step of the way.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I am always looking to work with other creatives! Photographers, designers, stylists, etc. They can reach out to me on my socials. Recommendations for plus-size model castings is the best way to show your support! Sharing and subscribing to my content is one way you can show support as well!
