Inspiring Conversations with Toia Wallace of Glow Beauty Esthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Toia Wallace.

Hi Toia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
In the beginning, I just wanted to create a product line for multicultural skin. Knowing the troublesome skin concerns and issues black African American women suffer, I wanted to present a solution that helps them restore their beauty and get back that glow. I started working on this mission in the Summer of 2017 and planned to launch my product line by 2022.

Chasing solutions in an attempt to resolve skin issues, I found inspiration to dive deeper into the process and study the science behind it in the Fall of 2019. Under the advice of my chemist, I started to study ways to impact and improve not just the topmost layer of the skin but also the layers are hidden beneath.

To do so, I enrolled in the Facial Specialty Program at FSCJ in Jacksonville, FL and started this journey in 2019. It was at that time, I started to think about stepping into the spa industry. I didn’t want to just open a spa but wanted to spearhead an institution where women find solutions to underlying acneic and skin problems.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The greatest stimuli in my journey have always been the drive to inspire a positive change. I wanted to make the best use of knowledge and experiences gained along the way and create an impact on the beauty industry and women’s lives. In the middle of the Facial Specialty Program, the COVID-19 hysteria began and everything stalled.

At the time of the graduation, I was devastated and overwhelmed to see nationwide businesses shut down and watch entrepreneurs spiral downwards. Being a part of the beauty industry, I knew here connection is everything and we have to work face-to-face and solve problems by touch-to-touch. When opportunities start to fade, I found a glimmer of hope in the divine power of GOD.

Even though my entire product line wasn’t finished, some products were ready to hit the market. Most notably, InamiPro Professional Skin Care. Named after my daughter, the name symbolizes a simple fact ‘God is Always with Me’. These five words have manifested themselves time and time again, showing the wonderful ways God works. At the time, when even the established businesses were shutting down, mine began to flourish.

Fresh off graduation and driven by the faith in the almighty, I opened my business and it has been going strong for the last ten months. I have been a Licensed Esthetician for over a year and have enjoyed helping others beauty themselves every day.

In truth, it hasn’t been the smoothest ride and the ongoing hysteria didn’t help. However, I kept a positive mindset, relied on my faith, and moved forward. I believe in learning something new every day and using adversities as opportunities to rise above. To best describe me, I am a hustler who keeps striving to do better. Above all else, I know God has never left me out and I firmly believe he will always have my back till the end.

I am the owner of Glow Beauty Esthetics Spa, a subsidiary of Glow Beauty Intl LLC. Located in Jacksonville, FL, I provide services, including corrective skincare, hair removal, facials, full-body treatments, and professional teeth whitening (Pristines Smiles). Add to these, we also provide beyond-the-skin turnover programs, chemical peels, and micro-needling services to treat underlying skin issues.

I specialize in treating Acneic Skin Conditions and use my roots to present solutions best suited to exclusive skin types. Coming from the Caribbean, I have always focused on herbs and natural plants and that’s the reason why my clients trust me and my ways.

Till now, I am the proudest of InamiPro, my original professional skincare solution that has helped many women get back their glow. In every step of this journey, I have the support of my daughter and husband, the dynamic duo of two beautiful souls who inspire me to keep moving forward even in the darkest times. Even though I am very shy and introverted, when it comes to skincare, I feel the opposite. Strange energy flows through me, inspiring me to do what I do best and that’s to help others unlock the true beauty hidden beneath.
