Today we’d like to introduce you to Bernard Gracy.
Bernard, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Gracy Elite Fitness was created through my very own transformation and battle with obesity. During the year of 2004, I gained 60 lbs. from my original weight of 180 lbs. My body felt miserable I felt that I was imprisoned in my own flesh. Things that I was accustomed to doing with ease were becoming major obstacles such as walking upstairs, tying my shoes, facial features, as well as body features changing etc… I decided that the change began with me. Every day, I worked harder and harder to achieve my transformation. After I succeeded I did not want to stop. I started inviting friends out to exercise alongside me. A few times they would ask me have I thought about becoming a personal trainer. At that time, I didn’t think that it would be a bad idea so I decided I to get certified. We mostly trained outside being that it was the beginning of the summer, but as time went by the weather changed and we were forced to go inside of our local community center. As we started to grow, our social media platform grew as one of the top transformation programs in the city, but we were without a building of our own. As of today we have a new gym located in Augusta Georgia where we can service all of the CSRA in the comfort of our own gym.
Has it been a smooth road?
Like most businesses, Gracy Elite Fitness has experienced its ups and downs.
My first struggle came with not knowing where I was going to take my clients once the weather changed, in addition to having limited equipment.
My second struggle was retaining my clients because at this time I had to result to training in a rough part of the city. A year after I started my business, I tore my Achilles; however, the most challenging of all my obstacles I have had to face, and is currently facing would be financing and funding to expand so we can continue to contribute to a wonderful thing. Sometimes it gets rough to keep a smile on your face while trying to better, and improve the lives of others. Sometimes it takes getting up at 3:45 A.M. every morning in order to get to your 5 A.M. class no matter what, and no matter how you feel you make it, because there are people depending on you no matter how your body feels, or how you feel you are there and their lives are in your hands.

We truly believe that happiness and feeling good about oneself plays a major key in one’s weight loss Journey. We specialize in body sculpting such as weight loss, weight gain, and toning. We are also known for our Speed and Agility training for athletes to reach their fullest potential bodybuilders included. We’re most proud of our company’s achievements in helping our clients become the greatest version of themselves. Whether it’s helping a Cadet make weight to swear into the United States Air Force or building an athlete to the point where he/she receives scholarships for Higher Learning. It’s rewarding to know that you are a part of their success.
I believe our genuine character and willingness to even sacrifice our happiness to make our customers happy and achieve their goals is what separates us from other centers. If it wasn’t for the comfort of my own family and responsibilities I would give this gift away.

I believe that Atlanta would be a great place for a fitness center such as Gracy Elite. The city has a high population of people willing to make transformations or just to keep up the maintenance of their bodies. It also has a high rate of successful people.
