

Today we’d like to introduce you to Frantz Joachim.
Hi Frantz, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Nobody wakes up one day and says hey “I want to be a Life Insurance agent!” There is nothing sexy about that. I had just gotten laid off from a mortgage company that I worked at for 15 years. I decided that I didn’t want to clock in and out anymore and so with some of the severance pay that they gave me, I went ahead and got a couple of licenses under my belt. I got licensed in claims adjusting and life insurance for starters. Independent claims adjuster is what I started with first. I have friend in Tampa who was already in the profession and after he showed me how much that he was making, it was a no-brainer for me. An independent claims adjuster is the person that the Insurance company calls on to go assess the damages done to your property after a storm or any act of nature. I was responsible for telling the company how much funds was needed to get your property back to what it was before the damage. My first deployment was Hurricane Michael. I was stationed in Panama City Beach, FL. I was there for a month straight but never knew when it would end. Although the money was great it made me realize the value of being there for my kids and my lady. And so… Life Insurance. My sister and wife were already into it. They were the reason that I even considered doing it. Although it was tough at the beginning, and my wife couldn’t stand it, My sister’s success kept me pushing. Not to mention, I work on my own time, I have more control on how much I can make, and I’m home. I went from working under my sister’s agency to creating my own, The Elite Key Insurance Group!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
This question makes it seem like I made it to my destination already. The ocean is continuous. Although there’s been some smooth sailing, there has definitely been some rough waters. When you become a life Insurance agent, you are dealing with different people from different walks of life. The biggest struggles come with convincing a stranger, that he or she should obtain something that they were already interested in, but only for a moment. The objections used to be the toughest part of being an agent. A rough week full of objections means no pay. And that used to make me question this profession. Like I said Life Insurance is not Sexy.
