Rising Stars: Meet L.A StayFly

Today we’d like to introduce you to L.A StayFly.

Hi L.A StayFly, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It’s no secret that Atlanta is home to some of the most diverse and talented independent artists in the world. L.A StayFly is no exception. Her recent single “Foot On They Nexks” is buzzing around different cities and is arguably the hottest song in rotation right now. A proven hustler, even during quarantine finding ways to stay hungry, being named Street Heats “Crowned Queen” in the worldwide unsigned artist showcase. It’s no question that L.A. is on her way to do big things in the music industry.

Everyone thinks I’m from L.A. (lol) but it stands for (Lyrically Attractive).

Originally hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio. Songwriter, artist, entertainer, and entrepreneur. L.A. StayFly is definitely making her mark here in Atlanta, with consistent releases, hot visual, indie showcase performances and her unique style stays one step ahead of the pack..

L.A. StayFly has the creative ability to draw her listeners with not only her beat selection and hooks, but through her lyrics and storytelling abilities, being able to draw you in with relatable lines that are easy to connect with.

It’s no wonder with musical influences like Bow wow, Master P, Eve, Missy Elliott, Snoop Dogg, P Diddy, and many more that music is just one of many successes L.A sets out to attain. A true student of the game. She, like the greats admires plans to achieve much more than musical success.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some days have been smoother than others but I continue to manage, moving to Atl was the best move but I had to learn a lot fast it was like you gotta keep up or get left behind. I’ve been homeless, I’ve slept on couches I even slept in the studio. but I continued to keep my faith high and stay consistent and that’s why I’m still standing today, my oldest brother passed in 2013 I thought that was the biggest challenge to face. Then last year the beginning of 2020, I was dropping my Ep “The Enterllect” Feb 22nd and my mom passed Feb 18th right before the pandemic hit, I felt like my heart was takin out my chest with her being back in Cincinnati I felt like my world just ended.

The craziest part was music was the last thing on my mind but she was the main reason I became a artist, my mom was a DJ for 18 + yrs, God gave me the courage and strength to perform a song I wrote for her at her home going and we did it together, While playing her favorite song
“She’s Bad Mama Jama” By Carl Carlton for one last dance. After that, my angels guided me to still release my Ep because that’s what she would of wanted and carrying on her legacy is now my purpose.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an artist, entertainer and songwriter I manage other artists as well. Right now, I have 2 (Savvy Red) x (Tha Baby Goat).

I’m also an entrepreneur. I have my own business as a hair stylist. I specialize in natural hair and dreads locs from styling to coloring. I truly have “Gifted Hands” which is now the name of my new stimulating growth oil I have available for my customers and clients. I am truly proud of how I made it this far with overcoming all the obstacles in life. Being able to smile day to day and continue make things happen is a blessing.

What sets me apart is my personality. A personality is something molded from the moment you are born. My experiences, is the greatest influence on shaping who I am as an individual. My Creativity, everyone has their own unique creative gifts that’s the beauty of it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
The role of luck maybe, just knowing the right people networking and making the right connections.
