Meet Ivoire Lenior of Ivoire’s Bistro & Catering

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ivoire Lenior.

Hi Ivoire, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m a talented and licensed Chef located in Atlanta, GA. Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, my love for food started right in my grandparents’ kitchen. This was was the very beginning of my inspiration which created the chef I am today. My grandparents are from New Orleans, LA. Every Sunday my grandfather “Grandad” would cook breakfast, Salt Pork and Biscuits that lightened the entire house. My grandma, affectionally known as “Bigma” would cook dinner daily. She made Gumbo & red gravy from scratch, which was the talk amongst my friends whenever they came to dinner. The smell of food is nostalgia and brings me back to my childhood. While other 12 yr old’s may have dreamed of toys for special occasions, all I wanted was kitchen gadgets and cookbooks. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in marketing and business from Dillard University and later obtained a culinary degree from the most prestigious culinary school there is, LeCordon Bleu.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s been a smooth road, but I accept all challenges because they are definitely apart of growth. Life is the best experience. My faith in God is what has truly kept me grounded. I have had personal moments in life that made me not want to follow my culinary dreams and become an entrepreneur, but God has always provided and made ways that I thought were impossible. This, I know was only a blessing and act of God. I left a great job with great benefits in Chicago, IL in March of 2021. I took a leap of faith and relocated to GA with my son. My son is 13 yrs of age and autistic. Being a single mother of a special need child. Trying to provide for myself and son, while following my culinary dreams definitely has its challenges, i accept that this is just a test so that I can tell my testimony and motivate the next entrepreneur out there. The road of life may be bumpy but its not broken. I also have to give great thanks to my family and friends for being an amazing support system. It takes a village and it’s not impossible. Struggles are inevitable, but trust the process although you cant trace it!!

We are dedicated to creating an enjoyable experience. Ivoire’s Bistro & Catering wants to Introduce Metro Atlanta to our unique one-of-a-kind cooking techniques, flares, and flavors. Ivoire Bistro & Catering was established when chef/owner Ivoire Lenior, wanted to infuse her love for cooking and elevate food that takes the customer on the best food experience from presentation to taste. Ivoire has always believed in the concept of eating with your eyes before you taste your food. Food must be presented in a fashion that draws the customer’s interest and curiosity.

What’s next?
My future plan is to open a brick and mortar. Take a dive into the restaurant industry. Another focal point of Ivoire Bistro & Catering is to establish a strong community dedicated to building awareness in the culinary industry by partnering with culinary institutes and employing students for staging, education, and exposure to the business side of the food industry. Last, but not least, inclusion for those with special needs into the restaurant for training young special need adults. My goal is to bring inclusion and awareness to our special need communities.
