Daily Inspiration: Meet Sharla Murrell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharla Murrell.

Hi Sharla, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Handmadeheaven90 come about in 2012. At that time, I did a lot of custom orders. I actually did not make Jewelry starting out. It was mainly bedazzled cell phone cases and ID badge holders. I also made custom fashion design resin Keychains, necklaces and magnets.

Eventually, I began to repair Jewelry. My Mom or Mawmaw would need their Pandora and or charm bracelets fixed. From there, I then got into making bracelets. Bracelets extended to anklets. Now I custom make Waist Beads, Pet name tags, earrings and loc jewelry.

In 2020 (during a whole pandemic) I took my business to TikTok. I had no idea it would be the turning point for Handmadeheaven90. In short, I’ve been super busy ever since.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I will be completely honest and say, NO. (Lol) Although, it’s been a roller coaster ride. I am grateful for all that I have learned along the way. It has helped me in more ways than one to be where I am today.

My main struggle was finding people who were in need of my services. Also, in the beginning not having all the resources we have today to help grow my business.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I custom make my Jewelry. Each bracelet, anklet, keychain and loc Jewelry piece is made by hand. My specialty is in Jewelry repair.

I am known as the “Jewelry Lady” (lol). Everyone comes to me for their jewelry needs.

My proudest moment right now is this very interview. I am grateful for the opportunity. To be featured on VoyageATl is an honor as a small business owner. So many amazing business owners, some I know personally are on here. To finally share the same excitement they had to be a part is such a blessing to me.

What sets me apart from others is how I interact and engage with my followers and customers. While I’ve said this before. Another thing would my Jewelry itself. It is unique and one of a kind. You may find something similar. But, nothing exactly like it.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I have a few important lessons I’d like to share. Number ONE! Never, ever give up! Second would be to trust GODS timing. Be patient. Your timing is different from everyone else’s. Lastly, Do NOT compare yourself to others. While today that may seem harder than before. You MUST master the art of focusing on YOUR craft and appreciating your OWN work. You are your own cheerleader along this journey.
