Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Sanders.
Brandon, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am the CEO and Founder of Sanders Wildlife, Inc. I was born in Kennesaw, Georgia and raised in the small “one horse town” of Bremen, Georgia. Working with wildlife has always been a passion of mine, and growing up it wasn’t uncommon to see baby raccoons being fed in the kitchen, or an injured deer being rehabilitated in the back yard. The importance of wildlife was instilled into my mind at a young age by my father, Ken Sanders and Mother, Lisa Sanders. Being known as a Pioneer in Georgia’s Wildlife Industry, my father helped guide and educate me while I forged my own path in life. Most of my younger years were spent helping my family care for injured wildlife, as well as helping my father and brother during each summer. After High School I attended College to be a Networking Administrator. I shortly after realized my calling was in the Wildlife Industry and decided to go to work for my father’s company, AGF. For a Decade I helped my father grow and expand his company, while I learned the skills and trade to solve any wildlife issue with ease. In 2014, my father decided to sell his company and work under a new owner. Upon the initial stress, I made the choice not to go along with my father and former employees. I begin to push myself harder than I have ever before to create my own name. Upon starting my company, I began to see problems in need for a solution, as well as a need for change on how the world views our wildlife. The importance of our wildlife in our ecosystem is critical. Our world would thrive without human life, but crumble without our wildlife. As the world continues to grow, expand, and populate, Wildlife will continue to move into our homes and place of business. Sanders Wildlife was created to help Wildlife and Human co-exist peacefully through these situations. As we grow we hope to help people realize that wildlife is not to be feared, but respected.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Along my path I have hit a few struggles along the way. Being a son of a pioneer in the wildlife industry has had its perks, but also meant that I had to work that much harder to create my own name. I wanted to start a company that not only helped people through wildlife exclusion and removal, but as well through educational videos and wildlife products. Upon starting I was familiar with how to trap and remove wildlife, but I wanted to challenge myself. Instead of trapping, removing, and relocating the animal, I wanted to find new ways to let the animal be, while keeping my customers house sealed and protected from visitors. We look for solutions for each job rather than just trapping and removing the animal.
Being a humane company means I have to try that much harder, and I always have to be alert when walking a rooftop over or have to hand catch an animal. When starting my company the first 3 months were rough. My debt started to pile up, as well as adjusting to not having a 7 – 5 job every day. I began to doubt my decision, but after the overwhelming crowd of support encouraging me around each corner, I went on to build a sustainable company with a bigger goal than just profits. I truly love what I do and hope to see Sanders Wildlife one day take on bigger problems our wildlife face every day worldwide. The choice to leave behind my safety net and take the plunge put my mind at ease knowing I am following my heart. I work physically harder and longer now than I ever have before, but at the end of the day I am mentally refreshed and most importantly, I am Happy.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Before starting this venture I did a lot of soul searching, while looking for direction in life. The choice to start a wildlife control company came from a bigger picture. I started to write my goals down on paper in bullet form about 5 years ago. For every goal completed I checked it off the list. Once I took the leap of faith to start a company my goals became easier to check off. What took me 3 months to complete now takes me 3 weeks. Loving what you do is all the difference in the world.
Our company prides itself on our honest and detailed inspection/work per each job. We do not offer or sell a service our customers do not need. I learned at an early age to let your work speak for yourself, and at Sanders Wildlife that is exactly what we do.
