Today we’d like to introduce you to Izabella Rivera-Dykes.
Hi Izabella, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am of African American and Puerto Rican descent. I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and I come with a vibrant and strong personality. My story started a little traumatic by it was by far not my final destination. When my mom was pregnant with me she was rushing to the ER (emergency room) because she thought she was about to lose me. At that time, she was pulled over and assaulted by a police officer. This was a very traumatic experience and luckily, I lived for her to tell me about it. My mother is an African American strong and determined women and she taught me to be the same.
Within my career, I have been Modeling, A Kid Influencer, A Kid Host, Acting as well as an Entrepreneur. I am also an athlete of Cheerleading, Gymnastics & Track. The Instruments I play are Piano and the Guitar.
I started modeling at the tender age of three years old and I blossomed from there. I have done commercials, runways, print ads and more. I have worked for people such as Gerber, Just For Me Hair & Georgia Bridal Show just to name a few. I was signed to a modeling agency at six years old.
As a Kid Influencer, I hold a show called Friday Weekly News. This show currently airs every Friday on Instagram. This show is the wrap up of the news for the week which includes celeb news, birthdays, look of the week, shoutouts and a lot more. We build a set and we have some amazing in – person interviews coming in the near future to air. When people see my personality this has opened the door for other opportunities. I get DM’s when I don’t post this news update and I love them all. With my busy schedule if you don’t see the news on Friday we now have a “Weekend Update” which is a shorter version of the Friday Weekly News.
My acting career is growing. I have done two movies so far. One has not been released so it’s sensitive to talk about but I have a Starring Role in the film. It was such a pleasure to shoot with such amazing people and I love growing in this lane.
Now me as an Entrepreneur is definitely my lane. I co-launched my first business in 2019 and it was a skincare line called StyleQue21 Cosmetics. This is one of our family businesses but in the background I was prepping for my own. I own Izzy’s Glitz www.Izzysglitz.com. Izzy’s Glitz is a kid electronic and accessories brand. I hate to just say it is for kids because if you can fit it, you can wear it. I have had kids, adults as well as some celebrities wear my brand. Some of my affiliations are with Yandy Smith, DJ Envy, Mz. Skittlez (Mary Seats) Chyna Bethley (Crypto Queen) just to name a few.
Izzy’s Glitz started doing the Izzy’s Glitz Concert in July 2021 in Columbus, GA. The show was a sell out and nothing but great reviews. Great performances, Gourmet food, entertainment and just fun. We will surprise you with where we will go next. I do vendor shows that now we even get calls to ask for us to come out. Some of the big shows that I have done are: DJ Envy Car & Bike Shows (All), Atlanta Women’s Expo, Atlanta Sweet Auburn Festival and alot of smaller events as well. We are now in network to setup at all DJ Envy Car & Bike Shows Worldwide. Thank you Unk!
I just look forward to all my future has in store and I will just keep grinding my way. Be sure to check us out in Target soon! Coming to a store near you.
Come with me on this Journey!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This has not always been a smooth road. I have had challenges to grow and just always use my talents to put me where I need to be. I do not follow in other footsteps. I congratulate all and I am proud of everyone’s success.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in quite a few things. I am very creative and I just love being a business owner. That is what makes me the most proudest. To see people wearing my brand and being repeat customers is such an appreciation to me. No matter what I do in the life I will always have the knowledge and skill to be a leader and run a business.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I do not really believe in being lucky. Hard work definitely pays off and the power in believing.
