Meet Christel Kerdahi

Today I’d like to introduce you to Your Dream Designed.

Hi Christel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Most of us know the feeling of wanting more for ourselves and the people around us. We are a small group of friends building a foundation for us and our family through a passion we love to do. We never really thought this is where each of our paths would lead to but with God and prayer, we believe we are headed in the right direction. Over ten years ago, when our friendship began, we were all young girls with different dreams and aspirations. After many years of sleepovers, lunch dates, late night and early morning phone calls, and an ample amount of growth and maturity, we all discovered a love and passion for event designing. At first, we started off by designing one of the members of our teams gender reveal (Christel Kerdahi) which led to us designing other small events for ourselves and family members. We then discovered how deep our passion was for designing which brought us to the idea of turning our dreams into a reality.

The idea of starting a business was scary at first because we had no clue where to begin. Shortly after our third family event, we decided to come up with our business name Your Dream Designed. Christel Kerdahi, Domonique Le’Vell and Christina Kerdahi were then the official founders of YDD! YDD is an acronym for our business name given to us by one of our close friends when we first started and ever since then, it has stuck with us.

We started getting more recognition from our work and that came with more clientele. We got to the point where we knew we needed more help, so we recruited another team member (Christie Kerdahi).

Once our clientele became steady and our inventory started growing we knew we needed someone who could help keep our business organized and running smoothly. We then found our operations manager (Kia Lang).

With us five hard-working women on a team, we are unstoppable and we are finding our way along this event design journey.

Without God, none of this would be possible. We thank him for our strength, creativity, and our desire to make others happy.

Your Dream Designed mission statement: “If you Dream it we will design it, turning your event dreams into reality”.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the many obstacles/challenges we are facing is learning how to run a business with no prior experience. This can be challenging day to day simply because we are navigating in a world we have never entered before. With that being said, it’s been hard to find mentorship in our line of work who is willing to put forth effort behind it. Time management is another challenge we tend to face. Like any other business, navigating our personal lives while trying to build a successful business can be challenging but it is completely feasible! Another challenge we face is knowing how to market ourselves. This has been an obstacle we faced since we began this journey. Once we tackle this barrier, the dynamic of our business is bound to change!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As event designers, it is our job to create and design the visions and aesthetics of the event. We are a luxury event design company who specializes in luxe date nights, children parties, birthday parties, dinner parties, baby showers, balloon work and so much more.

We get so much fulfillment in taking our client’s vision and making it special for them but with a “YDD” twist! An event that’s more beautiful and luxurious than they could ever imagine. We absolutely love to see their reactions to our work. It’s truly priceless!

What are your plans for the future?
Your Dream Designed has big plans for the future!

Our main focus is to grow and expand our business locally and globally. This will lead to us traveling for business, which will then lead into expanding our team by taking on interns who have an eye for design!

Amongst the many goals and plans we have for our company, we will soon be getting an office space! Having a space dedicated to our craft will only make us better and even more organized. This will allow us to bring in a diligent mentor to guide us through our journey in our workspace.

We would also love to collaborate with other businesses in the near future. This will allow us to acquire and share knowledge within our ever growing industry.
