Exploring Life & Business with Victoria Park of Park Pet Supply

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Park.

Hi Victoria, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
In the 1990’s I had a dog named Harley who had chronic health problems. I had spent thousands of dollars and gotten nowhere with conventional veterinary treatments, so I learned all about holistic alternatives and a did complete diet change and my chronically sick dog blossomed into a healthy vibrant dog in a short amount of time. I realized that many other pet parents like myself could benefit from the things that I had learned and Park Pet Supply was born in June 1999. I love offering so many healthy options to my customers and helping their pets live a long and happy life.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Small business ownership is never a smooth road but can be very rewarding if you are passionate in your mission. The pandemic was probably the roughest time of the past 23 years. We were short-handed, stressed about the virus, we closed for in store sales and just did pick up orders for 14 months, it was A LOT!

As you know, we’re big fans of Park Pet Supply. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Pet Nutrition is our passion and we have so many options for dogs and cats, such as raw diets, gently cooked diets, kibble, freeze-dried, air dried, and canned pet food. We have many food-based supplements to help with common ailments and a large supplement department too. We provide outstanding customer service and we have a very knowledgeable staff which is another reason why our customers love us. Our team really takes the time to assist in finding solutions to common issues facing pet parents today.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was always REALLY into dogs and cats growing up. I volunteered for a local humane society starting at 11 years old by helping with adoption days, cleaning kennels, feeding the rescues, etc. In my younger days, the only thing I liked as much as pets was heavy metal music and neither has changed in the past 40 years.
