Life & Work with Brandon Kent

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Kent.

Hi Brandon, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Dance was introduced to my life when I started watching my mom do this dance move called “the wave” when I was six years old. She taught me that trick and I fell in love with dance immediately. I was heavily raised in the church and I used dance as my way to worship and give praise to God. When I was 11 years old, churches throughout the country held a huge youth convention for teenagers to present their gifts and talents. I participated in the for eight years until I became the Dance Coordinator at Atlanta School of Ministry. I parted ways with the college and became a solo artist performing at events and choreographing music videos, workshops, and classes and now I recently I joined I-inspire Dance Studios!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey of being a dancer is and will forever be challenging but because it’s my passion…. Every second is worth it. I will say in the route I’m taking my dance (using it to glorify God and not myself) has been a bit more tough but I’m willing to continue my path of dance regardless if it’s accepted or not.

My heart behind my dance is strictly show my heart and love for the Lord, using that as a gateway for people to experience how much the Lord loves me. And if He can love me, He can love you as well.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a professional performer/choreographer. I’ve danced professionally for 15 years now and I specialize in hip hop!

I’m definitely the most known for my facial expressions while I dance. I focus more on the emotion of the lyrics and instruments.

I believe I’m different than everyone else because I’m dancing a building a legacy not of my own but solely for God. Everything I do is not about me, it’s all about and for Him.

What matters most to you?
Community has been on my heart for MONTHS now & I believe leading by example for this generation is so important right now.

Just to have an opportunity to make a positive impact can change someone’s life & I take leadership very seriously.
