Today we’d like to introduce you to Rohan Galbraith.
Hi Rohan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I created my brand Dancingindesigner back in 2020. I wanted to separate myself from the typical job description of a stylist. I wanted to provide an experience to my clients like no other. That’s how I came up with the name. Designer items can be very expensive and pricey but I want my clients to feel luxurious and confident with every garment that I place on them. I started off using different muses in college. I went to Morehouse and was a part of a few organizations that helped me build relationships with others on campus. I used to grab my friends/ associates and put together looks to shoot content in. I, later on, started to reach out to celebrities/ influencers that were very popular at the moment and the rest was history.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing in life is easy. The difficult challenges that I have faced along the road are the reasons I am so strong and confident in myself to this day! I struggled with celebrity clients not wanting to pay me, not wanting to credit or tag me. Being new to the industry I was being taken advantage of because of how gullible I came off. I suddenly shifted that energy quickly while I am still friendly and interactive. I am very firm and passionate about my brand.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a celebrity wardrobe stylist and creative director. I am known for my personal style which demonstrates a twist to menswear fashion. If someone was to describe my style it would be versatile. My fashion sense changes every day. You never know which Rohan you may get today and I express my personality within the garments I wear/ place on my clients. I am most proud of being original in this industry. It’s fairly easy to get caught up or to follow a trend/ wave. I don’t like to be categorized, that’s what makes me different. I am demonstrating that you can be a fashion guy, while also providing fashionable looks to the clients you don’t just have to be considered a “stylist.”
What was you like growing up?
Growing up I was an introvert. I still come off shy to this day until I get a good feeling about the energy I am around. Once I feel comfortable around you my personality starts to lighten up and I’m a comedian for the rest of the day. I’ve always had an interest in fashion growing up. I use to watch my mother and aunts dress up in brands that are influential and making their way back around in our society today.
