Hidden Gems: Meet Brandon Armant of BAMM Communications

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Armant. He and his team share their story with us below:

Brandon C. Armant is a marketing guru, a skilled journalist, and a motivational speaker. For the last ten years, he has served as the President and CEO of BAMM | A Communications Company that boasts an extensive portfolio of creative marketing campaigns, as well as broadcast and digital media productions through its subsidiary, BAMM Network – a digital platform that elevates Black & Brown voices with content for Millennials and Generation Z.

Over the years, Brandon has interviewed the likes of A & B-list celebrities and leaders like Master P., Eric Bennet, Romeo Miller, Maliq Johnson, and the Rev. Jesse Jackson.

Since 2019, BAMM has been intentional about giving back to the community, especially to underprivileged youth and young adults in New Orleans, Louisiana, with monetary seeds and with educational initiatives through its non-profit organization, BAMM Cares Corporation. Now, after a decade of service in New Orleans, Brandon and his team recently expanded BAMM to Atlanta, Georgia, while retaining headquarters in New Orleans.

Prior to running his own company, Brandon served as a community News Columnist for one of Louisiana’s leading print and online newspapers; and he worked as a News Assignment Editor and Field Producer for WVUE-TV, the FOX affiliate in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Brandon has over a decade of experience in public relations, media relations, marketing, communications, public speaking, event coordination, and social media outreach.

He attended Loyola University to receive a Bachelor of Science in Communications – Broadcast Journalism. He is also a graduate of the prestigious Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program. Brandon currently serves as a member of the R. C. Blakes Senior Scholarship Committee Board of Directors, the Gulf Coast Social Services Board of Directors, and as an ambassador for the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce. He has served on the Thurgood Marshall College Fund charter school Board of Directors, the De La Salle High School Alumni Association Board of Directors, and the Foundation for Science & Mathematics Education Board of Directors. He is also a founding member of the Alliance for Diversity in Excellence, and he’s a member of the Urban League of Young Professionals, the National Association of Black Journalists, the National Press Photographers Association, the Public Relations Society of America, the Advertising Club of New Orleans, and the Press Club of New Orleans.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
This June, Brandon and his team celebrated a decade of his company’s existence and service. But the entrepreneurial journey hasn’t always been a smooth road for Brandon. Over the years, he has faced many obstacles and challenges as a serial entrepreneur.

One of his biggest challenges came mid-year in 2016 when his company abruptly lost two of its largest client contracts, and soon after he’d learned that some of the people he’d considered close, professional confidants had been secretly scheming against him. After only four years in business, Brandon thought about closing the company; but for every cynical thought that crossed his mind, there was a drive inside that would not allow him to give up. Little did he know that his commitment to weather the storm was the pre-requisite to his breakthrough, and the state of his company’s ascending growth. Brandon talks about this “breakthrough” in one of his website blogs.

Throughout the last 10 years, there have been other bumps in the road that Brandon and his team have faced; but he has always successfully pushed through those challenges with knowing that with God, all things are possible.
