Hi Gospel DJ Mae, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
A friend asked if he could leave his equipment in my home, Where I decided to play around with it. That was a turning point where I started my journey as a DJ. 30 years later, now a mom and Grandmom. I’m now Gospel DJ Mae!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some of my struggles were keeping up with the latest equipment!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m known as Gospel DJMae. I was brought up in a church where I developed an affiliation with music and melodies. My father and Mother were pastors of the church. A high motivation from my father adored in love with the sounds of the Gospel music. I was also influenced by the dancing moves of Mary J. Blige. I always been engaged in community work for the well-being of society. I have a passion for spinning gospel music of the gospel artists. People can send their music strings for me to play. It makes me happy and passionate to be a part of helping to get their song heard.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Yes, being locked down was hard and taught me the lesson of loving to be connected with people. The connection is a very important part of life.
