Today we’d like to introduce you to Dj ThaVibe.
Hi Dj ThaVibe, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started with a seemingly hopeless dream in my small hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee. One major factor of my life has always been two things: the love of music and people. Throughout grade school, I learned to play the piano, violin, and literally all percussion instruments. The genuine love of music always motivated me to do the impossible seeing as I do not live in a musically-inclined city. Prior to graduating high school, I obtain skills as an audio engineer, studio producer, production assistant, event specialist, event manager, production manager, and festival organizer. After graduating high school, I wanted to further pursue music and start my disk jockey career, but my family, of whom are my biggest current supporters, convinced me otherwise. So I gave up on my dreams until I reached a point where I couldn’t take it anymore. As swiftly as possible in 2015, I received my Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing and Logistics Degree and made a few adjustments to my life. I had gathered with some friends and created the first corporate project, Black Heart Entertainment and Promotion. It introduced everyone involved to the horrors of the entertainment industry.
The conscientious decision along with hustle, grit and determination, led to the opportunity to intern with the influential Chris ‘Dj Papadaddy’ Hudgins, Marus ‘DJ Money’ Smith, and the owner of Underground Takeover Studios, Dustin Tucker. That network opened up extremely rare events, opportunities, and connections, in many different regions of the United States. In 2018, the move was made to Atlanta, Georgia with the persistence and influence of my cousin, JerMaile Golson and this is was the pinnacle of everything, literally. Especially since I never thought I would move away from my hometown.
DJ ThaVibe is the other half of me. The world’s most intriguing disk jockey has been a force to be reckoned with since 2014. ThaVibe creates an addictively entertaining, positive, fun atmosphere for any event. Eight years later, and thousands of events accomplished, the mission is still the same: create the ‘talk of the town’ and a client five-star guarantee! The vibe is consistently innovative, entertaining, intuitive, supportive, and optimistic! I do not plan on stopping my DJ’ing career until I am at least 93 years old.
The next task was to bridge my love of people and my asinine degree. In 2020, during the pandemic, my imprint in the human race, Optimum Hope Enterprise, Inc. was formed. The corporation is dedicated to bridging gaps for individuals with a goal to have the ability to accomplish it in multiple industries. The mission is to have a multitude of serviceable companies in all industries. Optimum Entertainment LLC is the driving force behind the “Optimum Movement”. This movement has a simple vision: create a better world for all in every way. Though still in the beginning stages, we are already making major strives in the community! Our entertainment division offers all disk jockey (DJ) services, production packages, artist development, event/artist promotional services, creative guidance, video and photography services, event management and staffing services, entertainment consultation and referral services, equipment rental, etcetera.
Our new marketing division, Optimum Digital Marketing, currently aids start-up and seasonal businesses with a multitude of marketing services and strategies to create an online presence or enhance an existing profile. We are continuously growing our companies, brands, and networking systems. We are here to create, manifest, and innovate.
In Spring 2023, the launch of Optimum Transportation will be available for all your transportation needs! This includes moving services, transporting people and items of moderate sizes, and rentals.
Other surprises are in store for 2023 forward!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road so far has been interesting. The best way to describe it would be miraculously treacherous. Being a black entrepreneur already puts a target on your head in the eyes of society. Pressure to become successful, not for yourself but your family and the community is a motivational headache. My innate perfectionism and constant drive sometimes blind me to some key aspects. The obstacle is to constantly learn to evolve and remain aware of my surroundings. When you are focused on multiple projects at once, you tend to miss something that could be extremely detrimental in the end. Reflection and rest is another challenge. You feel as if there isn’t enough time in the day to accomplish everything. Time is relative, thus adding more of an urgent push to get things rolling before it is too late. Nothing can be accomplished alone, it takes a team. To create a team of trustworthy associates and partners are a challenge in ITSELF, but not impossible.
The entertainment industry, for instance, has its own challenges. I have been robbed 3 times, once recently by a deceiving company and associated patrons. You have to always remain diligent, assertive, and intuitive in the entrepreneur lifestyle in order to progress. Those who seem to be for you is not for you. They just want what you have or be where you are. The key is to remember who you are always! Remaining positive, optimistic, and grounded will take you to bounds unknown! Life is all about risk and obstacles. It is what makes you stronger, teaches you how to maneuver, and encourages inspiration. You have to have a true entrepreneurial spirit to create a sense of successful comfortability. For every new goal achieved, there is a new level of difficulty. Success comes from the strength and consistency obtained from overcoming those challenges.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
The profession that initiated this entire enterprise would be my very first job working at Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park in Rossville, GA as a ride operator at age 15, a year younger than every other coworker. I moved through the ranks very quickly through the 10 seasons total I worked there. Those humbled beginnings had shown me how to relate, communicate, and interact with many different personalities. My humanitarian spirit, my strengths and weaknesses were all brought forth during this journey thus creating the unstoppable force you see today.
During the 10 seasons, I worked literally every place in the park, from the parking lot to the supervisor over a section of the park. I am most known for keeping it live and making sure everything and everyone had the time of their life. My genuine concern, natural hustle mentality, and attention to all detail, especially in safety is what set me apart from the rest. I felt like if anything was just a tad bit off, then it could cost someone’s well-being. It also got me an award from the owners of the park as well.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory would be helping my grandparents around the house and talking with them. I come from the real country; my grandparents had me and my siblings doing chores such as churning butter, catching chickens, skinning rabbits, and of course cooking. They always reminded us that it was a lesson for everything, rather we would notice it or not. I literally knew how to make mac-n-cheese by the age of eight, carpentry by ten and driving my grandfather’s truck by 12…alone. My grandparents were always a welp of knowledge and I miss them so. All the moments spent with them and the lessons taught continue to push me even when things may seem impossible. “Anything is possible, now go make up your bed,” is what my grandma would say.
