Meet Sarah Druckman of Dr. Sarah Druckman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Druckman.

Sarah, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Chiropractic is the second career for me. In my 20s I owned a fashion design company in Detroit and toured with bands. I found this career unfulfilling and was struggling with terrible eczema and food allergies. I decided to go back to college to begin a new career path that would support not only my health and wellbeing but also others in return! I moved down to Atlanta to attend Life University to become a chiropractor.

Upon graduation, I worked with another doctor which was a great experience, but at the end of the day, I am an entrepreneur and knew that I needed to have my own practice. I went from having a home office and providing mobile services to clients (which I still do), to recently opening a practice inside of Thrive Coworking in downtown Alpharetta. I am super excited to be working in a downtown area and within a space that nourishes and fosters other entrepreneurs. I truly feel that I have found the perfect fit!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I don’t think that there is such a thing as a “smooth road” when it comes to owning your own business. There’s a meme that I love that shows the day-to-day life of an entrepreneur and it looks like the stock market crashing and rising from one moment to the next. I do a lot of yoga, meditation, and personal development which has really helped me to embrace the chaos. For example, with a new practice, some days are busier than others.

I used to get fearful that I wouldn’t have enough business to pay the bills. I have since learned to trust the process and to embrace the slower days because business is always growing and there is always something that you can put in on a slow day to gain momentum. On my 2018 vision board, there is a quote by Jim Rohn which really resonated with me, “Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines practiced every day”.

I think that is also really important to embrace change and the unknown. The path that you may have envisioned for yourself and for your business may not be what the universe has intended for you. I never thought that I would open a practice here in a coworking space in Alpharetta but at this moment I could never imagine being anywhere else. Embrace evolution and change because it will always come.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Dr. Sarah Druckman, DC – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
There are two divisions of my business. I am a certified animal chiropractor as well as a human chiropractor. Working with animals is incredibly rewarding and has really helped to grow my human practice as well. When someone trusts you with their fur babies they believe in you for themselves and their family. Being an animal chiropractor really sets me apart.

It’s a completely separate entity from my human practice though because I have to work directly with veterinarians. For the human side of things I use the tagline “Concierge Chiropractic Care”. This came from my business evolving from a mobile practice into a brick and mortar practice. I still offer the same quality of care within my practice that my clients receive within their own home (or office, barn, etc.). Each session is 20 minutes and may include stretching, soft tissue work, taping, cupping, nutrition advice, cold laser, essential oils and of course the chiropractic adjustment!

It is a set price per visit so I don’t nickel and dime people. Depending on what your body needs that day I supply it within a given time period. This is what I am known for. It’s not your typical 5-minute adjustment. Not to say that there is anything wrong with that at all, I just want to give my clients as much of a holistic approach as possible and in an affordable manner.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I just opened my the doors here in Alpharetta in January of 2018 (even though I already had a large clientele from house calls and my home office) so I am really focused on growing this practice. I love the fact that I am the only chiropractor in walkable downtown Alpharetta so I’m really looking forward to warmer summer months and further integrating myself within this community.

There is so much growth happening in the area right now that is really exciting! In addition to chiropractic care, I offer pop-up yoga events and work with a lot of other wellness professionals so we will be starting “Wellness Wednesdays” in conjunction with Thrive Coworking. I’m all about community and entrepreneurs (especially female business owners) supporting each other.

Long term I would love to develop more of an online presence and lifestyle brand. Think downloadable PDFs, putting my fashion degree to use, ebooks and courses. For now, I’m happy with my little niche and seeing how it evolves.
