Today we’d like to introduce you to Avada Love-Thomas.
Hi Avada, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, thanks for having me! Honestly, the thought of opening a children’s shop came to me while lying in bed with Covid during Christmas 2021.With nothing but time and negative thoughts about how soon all my children would be moving out and the fact, I had to do something with the money my father left behind after his passing. Initially I set out to purchase an existing children’s boutique, however, we could not agree on certain aspects of the deal. After a few months of negotiating, I walked away and decided to use my newfound knowledge to open my own boutique.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been smooth at all nor very difficult considering I am still in the early phase of entrepreneurship. Thankfully, I have a little experience in the world of business so most things that would come as a challenge I have been able to get through quite unbothered.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are a family-owned and operated children’s boutique in Dunwoody. We carry an assortment of children’s books, wooden and eco-friendly toys, clothing for ages newborn through size 10, and accessories.
We believe in well-made items that can be passed from kid to kid, creating a sisterhood of mothers and involving ourselves in the betterment of our community.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck? Blessings and God’s favor has played an important role in my life from birth.
