Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Zambrano.
Hi Andrea, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am an Ecuadorian, a lover of art in all its expressions, I really liked doing makeup for my friends, my aunts and my cousins, which caught my mother’s attention and she invited me to work with her clients, she had a clothing store where she made a space for me, I put my own makeup station made by my dad, and I started working doing makeup for the store’s customers for their events, which was going very well so we decided that I was going to study it professionally. I graduated as a professional makeup artist in 2017 in one of the most prestigious schools in Ecuador “Priscila Rendón makeup school”, being part of the outstanding students which led me to win the award for the best photo of my promotion, which allowed me to be part of the makeup staff of Pris Rendón in one of the most important events in my country, such as the Reina de Guayaquil, and also made me realize how passionate I am about this career.
I have been practicing makeup professionally for 5 years, I practiced it in my country for about 3 years in a studio that I had at home and two years here in the US after moving in 2020, I currently have a studio in Florence where I receive my clients and I treat them with much love.
In 2018 I ventured into the creation of digital content, and since then creating content has become one of my greatest passions. With the content that I upload to my networks, I dedicate myself to show my follower’s makeup tutorials, hairstyle tutorials, skincare recommendations, beauty tips, and makeup looks. Said content is published on my instagram profile.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This career has been full of ups and downs, one of those and the one that has been a little more difficult for me was when I had to emigrate and start from scratch, however over time I have been making my business and my services known to the public and Every day I have been able to receive more clients in my studio.
Regarding the creation of content, I have had to learn absolutely everything from zero, it has not been easy, but with a lot of practice and above all a lot of discipline, I have been improving and managing to improve the quality of my videos.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a professional makeup artist and media content creator, I specialize in social make-up and bridesmaid makeup, I love special effects make-up and tutorials for my social media. But aside from make-up, I also love doing the application of lash extensions and eyebrow designing has to be one of my most favorite things to do especially because eyebrow play one of the most important roles in the structure of our face.
I’m known for my tutorial videos on the internet, most of it is due to the passion that I have for teaching and helping more make-up lovers like myself about this marvelous world and empower themselves.
It has been a long process, but seeing how much progress I have been able to achieve thanks to proper preparation and extreme effort to become a better professional is something I am very proud of. Especially because it’s being constantly prepared and learning more that guarantees my clients will receive a service of quality.
What does success mean to you?
Success for me aside from achieving the goals is the learning and the wisdom that come with the process of achieving those goals, to be able to make a living doing something which you are passionate about and surrounding yourself with people that want to be better not just on a personal level but on a professional level as well.
