Today we’d like to introduce you to Shekayla Williams.
Shekayla, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I first started my career in England, UK in 2007 as a hairdresser. In 2009, I took a two weeks course in eyelash extensions and loved every part of it. I would travel to the states every year learning new techniques in hair! But once I mastered lashes, I began introducing it to hair stylists that I would meet in the states and their clients. It was definitely something foreign and a lot of clients was skeptical or even scared to try it. Nevertheless, as years went by the eyelash industry grew rapidly. I was definitely on a roll! 2011 I moved to the US permanently. I was still practicing hairdressing as well as building my lash clientele. I was quickly headhunted by a salon owner in Buckhead as they was intrigued by my skill set. This was nerve-racking for me as I wasn’t sure if any of my current clients would follow me and plus wasn’t sure if I was going to make it in Buckhead. Rest assured it wasn’t as bad as I thought, my clientele grew, serviced quite a lot of celebrities and even traveled out of state for select clients! I stayed in Buckhead until 2020. I decided to move closer to home as we already had and established business in cobb. All of my decisions made along the way I wouldn’t change it for the world! And I’ve definitely met some awesome stylists, business owners, entrepreneurs and clients along the way.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Not everything is going to be smooth sailing. It was hard finding a salon that would give me a chance, commission salons was always harder so I had to settle for a booth rental salon. One in downtown Atlanta which I stayed for 6-8 months. Walk-in traffic was non-existing which made it impossible to build a clientele.

Lustful lashes is an eyelash extension salon. We specialize in maintaining healthy eyes/ lashes whilst wear lash extensions.

We highly encourage our clients to practice healthy hygiene practices whilst at home by offering Lash cleansers that are available to them at the end of their service.
I’m most proud that I have managed to maintain healthy, professional practices and being able to enhance once confidence means a whole lot.
