Inspiring Conversations with Patricia Bryant of Spiritual Gleanings

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Bryant.

Hi Patricia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m an advocate of feeding the most neglected part of our being — the Spirit and culminating that with my calling to implement that awareness into the workplace experience, thus my new initiative: Compassion Centric Leadership training. On the spiritual side, my story started with providing daily inspirational messages to choir members. On the workplace side, my story begin with mentoring co-workers on how to incorporate the spirit with the natural to balance work life and mitigate workplace issues. That platform continued with the mentoring of a small group in a workplace symposium of participants from different vocations and different industries. That platform evolved into a YouTube channel called “Next Level” with three dynamic speakers from different age groups to give tips and share their stories from their industry perspectives. That platform evolved into a FB group called “Corporate Straight Talk” after I authored a book called: Divine Success (for Christians in the Workplace), The focus was to broaden the symposium concept and to share the “how to” tools to navigate in the workplace without compromising self-authenticity. Those endeavors has now led to my pivoting to my new initiative of “compassion-centric leadership” training: intertwining the spiritual with the corporate to grow servant-minded leaders.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road hasn’t been smooth at all but rewarding nonetheless in the end. There were people, pressures and problems that I encountered that brought about obstacles and challenges to mitigate. Whenever you go against the grain and march to a different drummer (as it were), opposition arises. Because I stuck to my convictions, I encountered race, gender and age discrimination. I’m a progressive when it comes to working smarter not harder; or, working with excellence and not accepting mediocrity, so I struggled with the nuisances that came with office politics and even church opportunism that placed obstacles in the way of moving forward to what mattered most. I later understood these behaviors to be just human nature of broken vessels (such as I am). I believe this concept today is called Emotional Intelligence. However, enduring that process grew my character.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Spiritual Gleanings, Inc?
The business name was borne out of a speaking engagement where I was asked on the spot what was the business name? I had just retired and wasn’t even thinking about doing a business (LOL)! However, that’s the name and the nature of the business which is to align business with the spiritual in growing compassion-centric leaders.

You should know that I am passionate about making a positive impact in building best practices in business and church leadership.

I specialize (and I’m known for) teaching from a three-prong model: consulting, coaching and speaking.

My brand stands out from others because I incorporate holistic step-by-step tactics which helps the participant to view challenges/objectives from a different lens for continuous advancement personally and career-wise.

Readers should know that in an every changing world, alignment, awareness, and mindfulness are required tools to being equipped to effect positive change to operate in their purpose. My service, brand and offerings provide those tools.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I learned we weren’t equipped as a nation; in business; the church, or, in the family to handle the paradigm shifts the pandemic caused.

The lessons learned in every facet of life is to assess the fall-outs and shore up the gaps to be proactive rather than reactive.
