Conversations with Brittney Laster

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittney Laster.

Hi Brittney, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born and Raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Had an okay childhood. Suffered a lot of trauma from the loss of my biological mother at age 3, being denied by my father who signed his rights over when I was born, dealt with molestation, domestic violence and rejection, God called me to ministry to be able to help other women walk in their true calling Unapologetically and Authentically while finding their identity in him and him alone. It was then Women Of The Word Ministries was born. I own several businesses, I am a Published Author, Faith-Fluencer, Ambassador, Life Coach, Minister and Marketing Manager. I got to where I am today by trusting God and allowing him to lead and guide me through the process by staying in His Word and staying before him (prayer).

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road. As a child, we struggled, but I never knew what we really struggled with. The reason being is that my grandparents, although we struggled, never made us aware of the struggles. We were oblivious to it. They did everything they could in their power with what they had to make things happen without us even knowing. We had what we needed but not what we wanted. As I got older, during the sickness/death of my grandparents I had to start doing for myself. I got married, had children and just like anyone else, LIFE HAPPENED. We became homeless with children, slept in our car, lived in and out of hotels, sometimes not knowing where our next meal would come from. That is where it was different for my children. What I didn’t see as a child, they did. After trying to work many 9-5’s and feeling like no matter how many hours we worked or money we made it was always gone as soon as we got it, we then decided we would work for ourselves. In doing so, it made us much better and now we live a pretty amazing life. So that being said, looking back, the road wasn’t smooth, it was rough but well worth it I can say. What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, right?? LOL

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a SAHM/WFHM mom to 6 children. I wear several hats. I am a Minister, Faith-Fluencer, Published Author, Life Coach, Ambassador, Model and Marketing Manager). I am known for doing Ministry (Preacher) Life Coaching there as well. I counsel young women and help them to get closer to God while allowing him to show them their purpose in life. I motivate others with encouraging words and or sermons/studies given to me by God to help them get through tough times. One of my hobbies is cooking and it is therapeutic for me. I enjoy cooking for others and my family and because of that God gave me the opportunity to write 2 cookbooks, Cookbook Journal and I have my own All Purpose Seasoning. (Books available on Amazon and my website) I also teach LIVE COOKING CLASSES once a month. I am Co-Owner of K&B Marketing Firm where we help assist Businesses with creating, implementing, and sustaining marketing strategies. We also plan and host marketing events with potential clients to help with the expansion of their company. We also do Branding, Public Relations, Host Webinars, Logo/Web Design, Flyers, Content Creation, Sponsorships, Press Release and I also offer 1-1 Coaching calls. I then help them by providing necessary resources needed to start, pray with them and also market their brand. I also do social media influencing where I am an Ambassador for many different brands like Walmart, Amazon, Temu, Shein and more. And last but not least, I also model. I operate in the Will of God and I allow him to lead me on what decisions need to be made which causes me to be set apart from the rest. Everything I do, I was CALLED to. I just operate in my CALLING.

What matters most to you? Why?
My family matters most to me because everything I do I do for them. I want to build a legacy that my children can continue when I am no longer here anymore. As mentioned before, growing up I didn’t have much so my drive and passion to want my children to have is serious. I want them to be able to follow their dreams and do what they want and desire to do without having to beg, steal or borrow for it. I never stole anything but of course I had to borrow and beg at times. I want to teach them that whatever it is that you want in life you have to work for it and no matter how hard you work to never give up doing it. I also want them to be able to allow God to bless them so that they become givers to those who need while using discernment of course because there was a time where we needed and people not even knowing us or our situation willingly gave to us. I want to teach my children the true meaning of life and the value of giving and living. I want my family to continue to live for GOD, operate in His WILL and to hear Him say WELL DONE THY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT!
