Community Highlights: Meet Lyndric Rowland of The Gaming Oasis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyndric Rowland.

Hi Lyndric, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Since almost the beginning of our marriage, we’ve focused a lot on our finances. We wanted to pay off debt, have multiple streams of income, live more than comfortably, and be able to leave a legacy for our children. We paid off a significant amount of debt and began to consider what would be a good business venture to begin for a third source of income. After weighing our options, we landed on starting The Gaming Oasis.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Lol No! This is our first business venture and we were completely green to a lot of things. The building of our trailer took longer and cost more because of supply issues. After receiving our finished trailer and preparing for our first event, we ran into power issues. There was also the struggle of learning to market and simply run a fun and efficient party for our clients.

As you know, we’re big fans of The Gaming Oasis. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are Atlanta’s newest gaming truck. We specialize in creating a unique and memorable experience for all ages. A feature that sets us apart is our outdoor entertainment area with seating for gamers to enjoy. We have two TVs outside covered by an awning to the keep our gamers cool and covered. Another thing that sets us apart is we have all next-gen games. As the owner and as someone that grew up playing games and continues to enjoy playing today, I find great enjoyment in seeing our gamers play their favorite games.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Covid-19 caused us to do a lot of self-reflecting and considering what matters most and how to make most of our time on earth. We felt it was important to not only depend on our employers as our main sources of income. While the game truck is not full-time for us now, it is the beginning of us owning multiple businesses.
