Hidden Gems: Meet QV Thomas of All Things QV

Today we’d like to introduce you to QV Thomas.

QV Thomas

Hi QV, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
All Things QV is an enterprise of five brands (in order of establishment): Bodies That Prophesy (BTP) Ministries (1998), Kake and Bake Katering (KNBK) (2016), Kalm N Reelaxx (KNR) (2018), Bijouterie by Kalm N Reelaxx (2019), Mask N Reelaxx by Kalm N Reelaxx (2020).

BTP is my oldest baby. It’s my ministry. I’ve been doing dance ministry for 25 years. In line with God, I’ve answered my call to the office of the apostle so my ministry is shifting from dancing to speaking and administration. In that, I offer clerical, graphic, and stationary work for a nominal fee. I work for love offerings more than profit. I’ll never turn someone away because they need and can’t afford a service that I offer. God has anointed me and graced me to be a witness and example of what the heart of Christ really looks like. I believe 100% in giving. The Bible tells us in Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

I started my catering business in 2016, KNBK because I used to get asked to cook all the time for parties and gatherings. Plus, I love to cook probably more than the average person should. I’ve recently launched a line of lemonades, Me’Lon Lemon Squeezee, and they’ve become all the craze.

I don’t remember what my initial reasoning was to start Kalm N Reelaxx, but I can tell you that I enjoy hand making all of my products. My KNR customers swear by my products. They pushed me to do more with this brand than anything. It started with candles and massage oils and has grown to include wax melt, body scrubs, facial scrubs, bath solutions, custom beaded jewelry, and body massages. I am currently working on new products that I can’t wait to share with the world!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’m a true single parent and a parent of a child with special needs. That is the biggest hurdle for me. The system has no compassion for people with intellectual disabilities. They often get discriminated against and in this world, it seems to be perfectly fine for it to continue to happen. There are no repercussions for not accommodating kids like my child in certain settings. I feel it’s unfair and I talk to several parents experiencing the same pain and trouble that I experience daily. I work in public education full time and it’s required that we accommodate all children regardless and I wish the same requirements were given to offer

childcare to the public. I offer quality products and excellent services, but I have to decline opportunities because I don’t have help with my child.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about All Things QV? I can do just about anything. Just ask! This is how I’ve kept business. My friends and associates know that I’m resourceful and can figure things out fast. The pandemic brought several businesses to a halt. I found ways to cater to my customer’s needs. I have a set list of products and services that I offer, but I take all kinds of requests. I had to find some way to adapt or else I would have closed. My best sellers pre-covid barely gets orders now and plus it’s almost twice the cost to make it now than then.

What are your plans for the future?
I am always in the hunt for the next best thing! I guess you should have to follow me on social media to see what I’m up to because I’m always up to something! I will say most of my next big projects will come out of my ministry.
