Meet Carrie Hyman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrie Hyman.

Carrie Hyman

Hi Carrie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Holistic Therapy Kneads was started in January of 2021. My vision for this business is to offer members of this community a non-pharmacological approach to pain relief and total body wellness. After graduating from massage school and passing the state board exam, the journey began. Starting a business is scary, having the confidence and courage to step out on faith didn’t come easy. Having the skills and passion is the easy part.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This journey hasn’t been smooth, but every bump in the road has been well worth it. One of these bumps included the struggles of finding a space suitable for lease that was large enough to accommodate the many services that I wanted to offer. Another challenge was promoting massage therapy and finding clients who would trust a complete stranger, not only with health information but also to give them a massage that won’t hand them in any way. I think the biggest challenge was not losing sight of my vision, and having the confidence to keep going despite doubts and fears.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a licensed massage and bodywork therapist. I offer a variety of massage options, including deep tissue, Swedish, and Lymphatic drainage, as well as full body stretch. I wouldn’t say I specialize in one particular type of massage, but I will say I am known for not only providing a fantastic massage but also being sure to provide the education behind what I do. I am most proud of the work I do providing massage to residents of assisted living, rehab, and memory care facilities. This is one of the most rewarding parts of my career and also sets me apart from other therapists.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t think luck has played a role in my life or business; I like to say it’s the favor of God. The favor of God keeps me mentally strong enough to handle any challenges or struggles that may come my way. With God on my side, I don’t need luck. Holistic Therapy Kneads is where I am destined to be. This is my calling, and I am in the massage and wellness business to stay!!
