Today we’d like to introduce you to Charity Angel Collins.
Hi Charity Angel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Sometimes people “find” their niche, and sometimes people begin to remember their “niche”. One day a friend sent me a recipe for an old cough remedy. She said, “Charity Angel, you should make this.” I soon gathered all of the ingredients sat at my grandma’s table, and began to mix them together. As I was doing this, I felt an overwhelming feeling of happiness and purpose. I took a picture of the mason jars, peppermint, lemons, honey, and bourbon that I had on the table and titled it, “About to be the master of home remedies. My 1st batch of many!” I didn’t really understand “speaking into existence” then, but it was the foundation for what I’m continuing to build upon. That was Dec. 30, 2016. Seven years later, I am still at it. Still helping heal the ill. I’ve added to the collection! Various herbs, elderberry syrup, sea moss gel, and I am beginning to forage to learn what plants are around us and what medicinal benefits they have.
Quarantine time at home in 2020 played a major role in building my business. When you have time to focus on yourself, incredible things happen.
My calling came by way of a friend saying, “…you should make this”. I encourage everyone to listen to that friend, that whisper, that nudge, whatever it is no matter how subtle. Signs aren’t always huge and neon. Pay attention to how you feel when you are doing the task. If it’s a part of your destiny, your soul will be happy; just like mine was that day I was mixing at my grandma’s table.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
If the road was smooth, I wouldn’t even choose it to travel. I have learned the most from those bumpy roads with the twists and turns! I take everything as a lesson, even sometimes thru tears.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My purpose: To assist in healing the mind, body, and soul utilizing homeopathy and empathy. I’d like to think of it as my specialty, but I am constantly learning. Mastering a skill is a lifetime achievement. My favorite way of learning is by simply having conversations with people.
I still live in the small rural town that I was raised in. Most people know me as “the witchy girl”. If you believe that herbs can heal and you have anything with the word ‘root’ on the end, yeah you’re pretty witchy around here. I incorporate ginger root and burdock root into products, mixing it in my cauldron of course!
I am proud of myself for sticking to the plan, allowing my purpose to bloom despite any negativities that arose. For anyone pursuing your purpose, never ever allow someone’s opinion of what you’re doing to dictate your actions. DO YOU! No one can do that better than YOU.
My willingness to stay true to self is what sets me apart from others.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Family and friends who have given me words of encouragement purchased products, or told someone about my products deserve a shoutout! “Word of mouth” has been the best thing for my business thus far. When someone asks on social media, “Who makes sea moss gel?” so many tag my name. That alone is like paying your local TV channel or radio station to run your commercial, but it’s free! Those are the people I’m thankful for. My best friend Carlos Antonio Chisholm once told me, “Who you are is what sets you apart from anyone else. They do the same things that you do, and people will still choose you. Why? Because you are genuine and you do this because you care; people can see that.”
