Life & Work with Cindy Bruce

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cindy Bruce.

Cindy Bruce

Hi Cindy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Would you believe me if I said I never picked up a paintbrush in my life with the intention to create anything? In 2020, during the Pandemic and Quarantine, I was going through a really hard time. My husband, at the time, was a mobile mechanic, which gave him the freedom to be out without causing real harm. I must say that he took full liberty of it. In the meantime, my youngest son, who has autism and was four years old at the time, and I were bound in our home. I was fighting depression, anxiety, fatigue, and a lot of other things on a day-to-day basis. I tried so many things to fill in the time, but I was going through puzzles and coloring books left and right. I remember one morning sitting at the dining room table and hearing God say pick up a paintbrush. He said it so calmly. I looked around like I know you’re not talking to me! I heard his voice again tell me to pick up a paintbrush and paint. Not knowing what I was doing, how to start, and what colors to use, I obeyed.

At first sight, the painting looked like a bunch of paint just spilled on the canvas. I was led to hang it up and watch it. For two days, I walked back and forth looking at a painting that didn’t make any sense to me. On the third day, I woke up and stood in front of the painting, and I saw a woman right there in the painting! I couldn’t believe it, I pulled my husband over and was yelling so you see it, do you see it?! He thought I was crazy, lol! I then heard the Holy Spirit say, paint what you see. Literally, He was giving me a vision of a beautiful woman, and all I had to do was trace the image that He was showing me. Before I could complete the woman, I began to see the face of a man standing behind her and began to sculpt him out as well. This would be my first Orginial I call “Adam and Eve”.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road because I have been a hairstylist for over 20 years and in ministry for 10 years! I knew nothing about art or the art world. Still don’t really, lol. I just paint and create! But now I have so many paintings that I could have my own gallery, lol. Trying to find a way in this extensive world of art has been very challenging, especially if you have not been going to any of the well known schools of art. Being self-taught, you don’t get highly looked at. Then being a Prophetic Artist, comes with its own challenges as well.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am what you would call a prophetic artist. The prophetic artist stands on the threshold between two realms, allowing the spiritual realm to manifest on the canvas. Prophetic artists have permission to release authority, compassion, and revelation. Prophets are ‘dream releasers’ who help people see what God has for them. I don’t know any other way to create now. He handed me the Mantle in 2020, and I totally, wholeheartedly depend on Him to use me to create whatever it is he wants to be manifested on earth. What sets me apart is that I’m not self-taught; the Holy Spirit is my teacher. The paintings that I create through Him speak to everyone who sees them. I love how He speaks to everyone differently when they are looking at the same painting. It’s like He gives each person a message of encouragement that was meant just for them!

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Just do it! It may not start off how you expect, but when you allow God to lead and guide you, it will be what you expected and more!

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

To trust God from the beginning! It makes things a whole lot easier, lol.
