Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Celeste Nagy. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Dr. Celeste Nagy

Dr. Celeste Nagy is a board-certified surgeon specializing in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, as well as non-surgical facial optimization.

She is originally from Dallas, Texas, and attended the University of South Carolina Honors College on a full academic scholarship, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology. After college, she spent a year in AmeriCorps as a Spanish-speaking literacy specialist working with underserved communities in Austin, Texas.

Dr. Nagy received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the illustrious Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She then did her head and neck surgery residency training at Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. During her chief year of residency, she was awarded the Humanitarian Travel Grant to perform cleft lip and palate repair in Bolivia. Dr. Celeste Nagy then completed a highly coveted facial plastic surgery fellowship with additional training in facial feminization and masculinization surgery.

She returned to Atlanta after fellowship training to be in private practice.

She enjoys spending quality time with her friends, her husband, her baby son, and their dog, Finley. She enjoys great food, live music, traveling, craft cocktails, and various outdoor activities like bike riding, kayaking, tennis, and yoga.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
There’s no such thing as a smooth road in medical training! It’s a lot of sacrifice, sleepless nights, and stressful situations. However, I feel confident in my abilities, which has prepared me to take the best care of my patients.

Additionally, I am a new mother and had a baby boy in September 2023. He is amazing, but I also feel the call to continue working as a facial plastic surgeon after 15+ years of school and training. Therefore, navigating motherhood while returning to work has been a transition. It is a new identity that has changed how I manage my limited time.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
As a facial plastic surgeon, my passion for face procedures is founded in my commitment to patient care, attention to surgical detail, and enthusiasm for aesthetics.

I offer a unique female perspective on facial aesthetics, and my goal is always to create natural results that leave her patients feeling refreshed and confident. I pride myself on taking the time to understand my patient’s goals and lifestyle. If necessary, I provide a range of non-surgical and surgical options to determine the best plan and outcome for them. Understanding their needs and creating a customized plan for them is important.

I am known for natural-looking results with rhinoplasty and aging face procedures like eyelid lifts, face and neck lifts, and laser resurfacing. I also perform facial contouring procedures like buccal fat reduction, liposuction, facial implants, and lip lifts.

I have been with Beaty Facial Plastic Surgery for three years. I am the only female Georgia surgeon performing facial gender affirmation surgery! Facial feminization and masculinization procedures are completely customized to the patient, and I love seeing these transformations! Both externally and internally, the patients have more confidence to present themselves as the gender they identify with.

Are any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
I have a monthly book club with a group of my girlfriends, and it’s so amazing to have that carved-out time to get together and discuss life, work, motherhood, books, and, of course, drink wine. I love to read fiction and wish I had more time to do it!

I like audiobooks, true crime, and comedy podcasts while driving.

However, for work, I enjoy the podcast White Coat Investor. I also like Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss, which is about negotiation and people management. How To Train Your Mind by Chris Bailey for “attempting” to meditate and learn to improve productivity without sacrificing time.
