Check Out Noel Scales’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noel Scales.

Noel Scales

Hi Noel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
As a kid, I started singing in school plays and musicals. My mother noticed that I had a talent for singing and performing, so she continued to enroll me into arts camps and schools. Over time, I began playing piano and reading music; I then began to write my own music. During this time, I was also a spoken word artist. As a youth spoken word artist, I had an opportunity to travel all over the world and connect with other amazing artists who inspired me to follow my dream of music.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road; however, it is always well worth it. My dreams don’t stop because life is life-ing lol! One of my biggest struggles as an artist has been turning my dream into a reality that I can live off. It takes a while to make money as an artist and songwriter. It doesn’t happen overnight, and you have to continue until it does. Sometimes, it requires you spending your own money of most things. Money that you don’t have, honestly. So, it’s more about being patient and keeping the faith that it will happen in due time.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a musical artist. I am a vocalist, composer, and a songwriter. I don’t specialize in a specific genre; however, I love hip-hop and r and b. I am a total hip-hop head and a singer’s singer. I love to listen to runs and wordplay. I believe I’m most known for my song “Picky” and my wordplay. One compliment I always receive is, ” I love you lyrics”. That means a lot to me as I was originally a spoken-word poet. I am most proud of my consistency and my determination. I will never give up, and that makes me proud because I have refused to give up on myself. I believe my determination and work ethic makes me different. I am willing to work until I fall out, lol! And most people would tell me, “It’s okay, it will be fine,” and I’m like, ” NO! I need to finish it now”. I am a big finisher, one of my favorite quotes Philly rapper Kur is, “You can level up, just off your effort”. I live by that.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
We have so much in store for 2024! I just released two new songs, “Touch,” Featuring a Demo, and “What You Want,” Featuring Trey Monroe. I have also released a live performance of my song “No Love” off my current project “Mandemic”. Follow me @noelscales and Tap In With Me! Thank you for reading!
