Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiara Jones

Hi Tiara, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am an Army Veteran turned entrepreneur. My husband Stephen was previously a Store sales manager for the automotive industry. 2015 my husband and I decided to get our Class A CDL which lead to the decision in 2020 to join together along with other family members to start Seabourne & Son’s Trucking LLC. The company has now been up and running since September 2021

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
To be completely transparent our 1st year was very bumpy. The 1st dump truck that was purchased we ended up having to rebuild the engine. While the truck was in the shop money was still needed to be made so we purchased another dump truck. We never had a problem finding the work because before buying our own trucks we were driving for another company so we were very aware of how to make those connections. The other small obstacle I would say is down time due to the weather. Spring, Summer, and Fall months are extremely important for us to increase revenue due to the winter time being down time in this industry. Also spring days that bring rainfall can also decrease work flow.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a dump truck company, our primary business revolves around the transportation and delivery of bulk materials. We’re known for the husband and wife team thats dependable with Material Hauling: Transporting a variety of materials such as sand, gravel, dirt, asphalt, and construction debris to and from construction sites, quarries, and other locations. Construction Site Support, Residential Services, Municipal Services, Industrial Services, Recycling and Disposal. We are proud to announce we are a VOSB; Veterans Owned Small Business Certified.
