Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel Dannielle.
Ariel is an African American Contemporary Artist born and raised in Georgia. She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts with a concentration in Painting from the University of West Georgia in 2016.
Strongly influenced by her experience as a young African American woman she uses her portraits as a narrative of the black experience. She started focusing on this topic her senior year of college after she realized how little representation she experienced throughout her whole time in school. She is currently steadily working on creating new work for upcoming shows.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The main challenge I’ve faced other than the obvious stresses of receiving my art degree is trying to find high-end spaces that want to represent a black female artist that’s creating work about being a woman of color. They are some, but it is slim pickings.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with ByAriDannielle – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My art is my brand and my business. I promote myself/art to get my work into s many galleries/magazines/museums as possible. I believe my painting style sets me apart.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plan for the future is to have my work in numerous contemporary museums. I want my work to be in places that attract a variety of crowds so I can make the people that don’t get enough representation see they matter and see that there’s someone like them out in the world sharing a story they can relate to.
