Life & Work with Jason Patao of suwanee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Patao

jason, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
We got started because everywhere we go, airports, different cities for sporting events, boutiques and malls… people would constantly compliment our style, and we kept hearing over and over we should be influencers.

The Kain Aesthetic, known to many as Jason Patao, is not just an influencer—he is a fashion expert, model, and critic redefining what it means to have style beyond 50. With an impeccable eye for rare, distinctive pieces, Jason proves that high fashion isn’t confined to youth but is a lifelong journey of self-expression. Through his platform, he inspires men and women to embrace confidence, elegance, and authenticity in their personal style.

Jason’s journey into the world of fashion is rooted in decades of experience surrounded by artistic visionaries. A retired Los Angeles firefighter, he also worked in fire safety management within the film and music industry, where he had a front-row seat to culture-shaping icons like Boyz II Men, Rihanna, Eminem, and Jay-Z. Over time, he developed a personal aesthetic that seamlessly blends avant-garde and sophistication—one that is both timeless and cutting-edge.

my wife Vanessa is an accomplished celebrity wardrobe stylist and now fashion buyer for high end luxury boutiques, so having accompanied her on her journey has shaped by views on fasion. Going to runway shows, being there during Fashion Markets in NY, watching boutiques by collections for upcoming season, you end up with you own unique style, not one that necessarily follows trends.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s come with many struggles. 2 career ending injuries in the fire department. the first which ended my career as a firefighter/paramedic, and a second injury 6yrs later that ended my position within the fire department as a Arson Investigator, Fire safety Officer for movie studios and Public information officer. all this taking place in Los Angeles.
Then a few years after he birth of my first child, my mom passed away from cancer and then 2yrs after that my father passed away from cancer. As an only child it was difficult, I then made the decision to leave LA after 40yrs and move to austin texas. that was great until Covid came and the Austin was a diffferent place. One year ago next month we moved to the suburbs of atlanta

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
what i do is all about curating and showcasing luxury fashion through compelling storytelling. Featuring brands like Amiri, Rick Owens, Balenciaga, and Chrome Hearts, Jason brings an elevated perspective to personal style, demonstrating that fashion is an art form that transcends age. His wardrobe, meticulously built over decades, is a testament to dedication, passion, and an appreciation for craftsmanship.

A most proud of my ability to empower others that you can be who you want dress how you want no matter what the age is, many people put themselves into a box I’ve been told in the past by people dress your age, I don’t really know what that means but I’ve also been told by more people that I hope that when I am your age, I can still dress the way I do.

I think a lot of this comes from having travelled the world from Dubai, to India, Singapore, Thailand, Sweden, France, Spain… it has given me a broader view of the world and people.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was a fun, loving only child, known for my wit and humor, my interest were golf and Tennis, and also filmmaking, and I started dressing myself when I was three years old and I’ve been a curator of fashion ever since
