Hi Penny, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, my name is Penny Bell owner & CEO of Miracle Hands Products & Services. I am going to keep this interview as professional yet “REAL” as possible. I would first like to say thank you for this amazing opportunity too share my story with others on your platform. I really appreciate it.
Being instilled with the passion of becoming an in-house brand at the tender age of 6 has been a transformative journey 🦋 … I began doing hair at the age of 13, after having my first child I dropped out of school. I went back to school at the age of 23 & graduated from Lenoir Community College in 2014 from getting my GED. A whole 10 years difference I know.. that just goes to show you that I have really been through a lot in my years of living. Right after receiving my GED I began cosmetology school I became licensed in the summer of 2016. It’s not just about products; it’s my driving passion! I was fortunate to have learned from the best, my wise grandmother Shirley Robinson who raised me from 16 months old until I turnt 16 years old. I thank God for her every day! Growing up watching her create her own products inspired me to do the same. My hair growth products made its first entrance into Beauty World located in Smithfield, NC the year of 2020. After selling out of my hair growth products in just 1 week & a half they called me back for a re stock & I’ve been supplying hair stores ever since. I now work with a total of 38 beauty supply stores in the USA. Not only do I supply beauty supply stores I am also a hair care vendor for 2 public schools in-the Columbia, SC area. I launched my very first hair care book in 2024 & it made its entrance into the first local library in Columbia, SC and is now in a total of 3 libraries in Columbia.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not always been a smooth road. After being involved in a domestic marriage, & becoming pregnant with my last born there was times I felt like I wasn’t going to make it through. But, those were the times I realized that I had to really pray & stay strong for my 6 beautiful children. I knew that I had to leave the old baggage behind in order to create a safer environment for myself & my children. I knew that staying was only going to make it worse, but after praying & with the help of my love ones I made it out of that situation, now I & my children are better “much better”!. I don’t think about what could’ve been. I now focus on (what is) & me keeping God first & staying consistent with my ultimate goals really got me to where I am today! I couldn’t have made it this far without my supporters.

I am a natural hair care specialist. I specialize in all natural hair care styles such as: Braids, Wig installs, Scalp analyzations, Lock maintenance, etc. I work with children & hair loss patients in the community, I travel to different schools to educate students & staff on hair care, I am known for hair growth! Hair Care Expert is what many have nicknamed me in the community & that makes me smile. Knowing that all of my hard work throughout the years are paying off makes me so proud. What sets me apart from others is that I genuinely care, I will go the extra mile to insure that my client’s receives the absolute best customer service as possible & it shows! I focus solely on my client’s scalp wellbeing if their scalp isn’t healthy then I will then do a scalp consultation, followed by Scalp analyzation & then I & my client will go over the proper hair care regimen that fit’s them best. Alongside of me providing beauty stores I & my partner Sova Black have just purchased our very first Salon. We’re located at 3106 Broad River Rd Unit 3. Columbia,SC 29210. Available for business

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I say that if you dreamt it, if you put your mind to it then you can achieve it. But, keep God in the midst of it & you’ll be successful. I took the risk by leaving everything behind from my marriage, I walked away from it all me & my children had nothing but, 2 tv’s and clothes. If God did it for me, he will do it for you as well! Taking that risk could be your next level up in life. You only get one life to live, live it up to the fullest & make that positive change.
