Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Williams.
Josh, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey started when I was working a job and began exploring low-overhead businesses. I first launched a business that didn’t last long, but along the way, I bought a camera — and that decision ended up leading me to start thinking about a business in the media space. I started exploring photography, and over time, developed a passion for capturing images that I could market and owned the rights to.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — like many people starting out, I faced a learning curve. Early on, I didn’t fully understand the business I was operating in. I didn’t know how to generate the right kind of traffic, how to identify ideal clients, or how to position my services effectively. But those challenges became the foundation that sparked a passion for understanding business at a deeper level.
What started as frustration turned into motivation. I became committed to learning everything I could — not just creatively, but overall about business. Today, I’ve overcome many of those early gaps, and now my challenges look different — like how to connect with larger organizations and put together the kind of value proposition that resonates with decision-makers.
As you know, we’re big fans of J.Will View. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business is called J.Will View, and we specialize in documentary filmmaking and short-form social media content for entrepreneurs and businesses. At our core, we’re focused on storytelling — but not just any story. We’re intentional about the projects we take on. Whether we’re reaching out to a prospect or responding to an inquiry.
What sets us apart is the depth of our process. We don’t just show up and shoot — we take the time in pre-production to understand each client, their mission, their values, and the heart behind what they do. That foundation allows us to tell stories in a way that’s not only authentic, but visually consistent and emotionally resonant.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the integrity we bring to every project. We’re not driven by volume — we’re driven by purpose. And I want people to know that when they work with J.Will View, they’re not just getting content. They’re getting a narrative that moves people, builds connection, and stands out in a crowded digital space.
How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happy is the ability to create something lasting — something that has the potential to inspire someone.
I’m also grateful for the relationships this work has allowed me to build. The camera has been a tool to bridge connects with people that align with my purpose. And for me, that sense of purpose — knowing I’m doing work that matters — is what brings the most fulfillment.
