Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Rozie Virani of Sandy Springs

We recently had the chance to connect with Rozie Virani and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Rozie, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Typically, my day starts with feeding and changing my daughter and cuddles with her. Some mornings vary, but for the most part I do the same activities the first 90 minutes of my day. These activities range from making myself a matcha, yoga stretching and a light core workout and movement, a brief moment outside, and getting bottles and dishes going for the day. If I have a busy day ahead on-the-go, I will then prep everything I need for the day and get my daughter and I ready to head out the house. If I have a slower day, I will then sit with my matcha or coffee and catch up client emails and messages then have some playtime with my daughter. I am thankful for slower mornings, especially now as a new mom. I do like to keep some consistency in a morning routine to ensure the day runs smoothly. I’ve learned through the years, it’s all about creating systems that work for you and your lifestyle preferences!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi there! I’m Rozie Virani and I am a small business entrepreneur stylist, first time mom, artist, wife, daughter, friend, and life explorer. I have a studio in Sandy Springs, GA where I take clients for haircuts, haircolor, styling, and bridal hair. It’s just me operating my first baby I call, Aqua Roze Hair Studio. I record and stock inventory, manage client emails and booking, run numbers and revenue tracking, and of course the main event- color, cut, and style human hair canvases. I suppose what makes it so special is knowing the heart and soul I have put into my career the last 20 years and being comfortable with where I’m at now and the possibility of the future. I truly can say I love what I do and all my clients I have had all these years. They also make my work so special. 💜

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I believe I am still exploring this idea of who I was before the world told me who I had to be. For me, being a new mom is getting me in touch with my inner child. I feel I am reflecting on what it’s like to think from a child’s perspective and work on seeing the world with less jaded eyes. I am learning, unlearning, and relearning and I feel it’s my job to do and undo anything that does not serve the soul purpose, love, and joy. Going a little deeper; I feel I was a child in constant exploration looking through colored eyes. I took up the arts young and would cut my doll’s hair, draw and paint pictures, and even make up games with my cousin’s that seemed to have made it to the big world. Maybe I should have been an inventor!? Haha
The world taught me there is a system set up in place that is supposed to be the way we live, but sometimes if we explore the pathways less traveled that we might find a little more magic and a better way to design our lives.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me duality. I wouldn’t know success if I didn’t know what it’s like to fail. If I have chosen to give up in my suffering, I would not know the depths that it takes to reach success.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They would probably say music and having a good time!! And vibes..Haha I’m a vibe and energy gal. For real though, they would say also say my family, my career and clients, friendships, nature and wellness, fashion, and good people.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I think what most people will misunderstand about my legacy is how I made it without the typical 9-5 and how a normal life is usually led. I feel I have stayed true to my heart as an artist and entrepreneur and that may be confusing and look different to some folks way of life and building a legacy.
