Gregg Erwin of North West of Atlanta. on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Gregg Erwin shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Gregg, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
While all of those things are important in the business that I’m in, the most important to me as a person, is integrity.
I am, and always have been, a man of integrity, and honor. In my opinion there is nothing worse than lying, cheating, or stealing. I believe that there is a God and I strive to be the best person I can be 24/7.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Gregg Erwin I’m a singer / songwriter, as well as a performer.
I play Outlaw Country and Southern Rock. I play all types of venues as both a solo performer and with my full band “200 Proof”. We even do stripped down acoustic shows from time to time.
If you want to hear real music that 99% of people can relate to, look me up. Just use good old Google and type in Gregg Erwin Music.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
When bonds are broken it usually entails the lack of integrity, betrayal, and broken trust. There’s usually a long road to rebuilding broken trust, Sometimes, it’s better left alone. I do believe that people do deserve redemption and it is obtainable through true change and it takes a long time.
I’m blessed to have an awesome team of guys to work with in the band as well as a few chosen ones that are, and will always be a part of my life.
I have been through the maximum betrayal in several aspects of life. Some things have been mended, others not so much and may never be.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I actually made that transition this year starting in February 2025. I experienced one of the greatest betrayals I’ve ever encountered and lost a lot of what I’ve worked for over the last 10⁸ yrs. However, I am already rising up over the trials and will be stronger than ever. I will never give up until my goals are obtained in both my personal life and business life.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They know what matters most to me is my family. As a close friend they also know that they are a part of that. I’m so thankful for those that are in that small, tight circle.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m with my daughter. When she is with me,
nothing / no one else matters. Of course if I have to work while I have her, I try and make it at a venue where she is allowed to be. (She’s only 8 going on 20) When I’m working on stage, I always bring it! 110 %
