Conversations with Loso Demone

Today we’d like to introduce you to Loso Demone.

Hi Loso, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
HELLO, IT’S MEEE — HELLO!” (in my best Cardi B voice).

My name is Loso Demone, born in Asheville, NC, and raised in Riverdale, GA — where I grew from childhood into adulthood. I actually started out dancing and just knew I was gonna be a choreographer after finishing school… but life had other plans for me, lol.

I first picked up doing hair around 14 or 15, and even then, I knew I had a deep love for it. The smell of Pump It Up! and a little burnt hair in a salon did something to my spirit that I couldn’t explain at that age. At first, I was mostly dancing, but I started doing hair just to put a little extra money in my pocket. I’d color my mom’s bundles, my sister’s hair, and of course my own — experimenting with colors and styles all through my teenage years. Hair and I just had a bond like no other.

Fast-forward to 2020 — I decided to make it official and get my business LLC’d and registered. I felt like Nicki Minaj: “Didn’t know what I was doing, but I put on a cape.” I didn’t have the right business structure at the time, but I knew I wanted to be great at my craft and stand for something meaningful.

From there, I started meeting people who opened doors and placed me in rooms that molded me — lessons that shaped who I am today. I’ll never forget working on a PrettyLittleThing set with Simone from the House of Tisci, doing hair for three of the models, and having a personal conversation with Teyana Taylor and Simone that stuck with me. Simone told me, “Go in here and make your name known,” and that advice changed everything. Still, I’ll be real — I was scared of my own potential at the time.

Eventually, I enrolled in cosmetology school because I needed that foundation. About three months in, life hit hard — I was in a serious car accident that completely shifted my world. After a hip procedure and six months of recovery, I finally realized what God was trying to tell me. Once I healed, I made the decision to pour into myself— fully.

That passion even led me into modeling, which helped me fall in love with the art of mastering something — whether it’s beauty, image, or craft. I then became a signed model under Keenyah Hill whom I’m beyond thankful for. I then had to learn how to be a talent and not the agent, which at that time I just didn’t understand. I was working as an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) and honestly just got tired of clocking into jobs that didn’t feed my purpose. One morning, after work, I finally made the move and enrolled in The Elaine Sterling Institute.

From doing hair “just for fun” to now being licensed, certified, and constantly growing — this journey has been powerful. It’s transformed me, not only as an artist but as a person. Every twist, turn, and detour brought me to where I am now — living in my purpose, creating art through Hair,Modeling and making my name known — just like Simone told me to.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Baby, you’re talking to a walking testimony.

It’s never been a smooth road for me — not even close. I was truly born out of destiny and purpose, and if those two were my parents, that alone should tell you my path was never meant to be easy.

I’ve been through headache and pain, stared death straight in the face, and walked in silence during the moments when my heart and soul were crying out. But through spirituality, I learned how to find solitude within myself — to start healing the parts of me that once bled onto others.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Model, a Master Cosmetologist specializing in luxury extensions, natural hair care, and color, and above all, an entrepreneur.

The truth is, I’m unapologetically myself — in and out — and that’s what sets me apart from other creatives in the industries I move through. I walk with sass and attitude, but I lay down bricks of grace and substance everywhere I go.

Because at the end of the day, you either stand for something, or you’ll fall for nothing.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
If there’s one thing I want people to take from my journey, it’s that your struggle doesn’t disqualify you — it develops you. Every setback I’ve faced became a stepping stone that pushed me closer to my purpose.

I’m living proof that you can start with nothing but passion and still build something that speaks louder than words. I’ve learned that grace and grit can exist in the same person — you can walk with confidence, fall flat, get back up, and still be chosen for greatness.

My message to anyone reading this: keep going, even when it’s uncomfortable. The very moment you think you’re being broken down, you’re really being built for something bigger. Stay consistent, stay grounded, and always BE YOU — because your authenticity is your power.
