Samantha Kuzian shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Samantha, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Music, nature, and art are where I lose track of time and find myself again. They remind me that life is full of beauty and wonder, even in the smallest cracks and quietest corners. Whether it’s a melody drifting through the air, sunlight filtering through trees, or colors blending on a canvas, these moments invite me to pause, breathe, and see the world as brimming with love and light. They’re my way of reconnecting with what’s real and joyful.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I run Impact Theatrics—a whimsical, wonder-filled creative space where I teach theatre to children and design colorful, unusual pieces of art and experiences for kiddos. My work is all about sparking imagination, building confidence, and helping kids (and adults!) discover joy in self-expression.
What makes Impact Theatrics unique is its blend of storytelling, artistry, and heart. From after-school drama programs to community theatre for all, everything I do celebrates curiosity, creativity, and community. Right now, I’m developing new children’s plays and expanding to share even more playful, inspiring themes with families. It’s my way of planting little seeds that grow into confidence, creativity, and connection. We always have a focus of giving back to our community and allowing all to thrive!
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My life partner. He was the first person to truly see me before I could see myself. In a time when my world felt drained of color, he gently filled it with light and possibility. With him, I’ve felt like a small bird relearning how to fly—only this time stronger, freer, and more myself. I had thought hope and dreams were lost, but through his love I discovered the beauty, strength, and uniqueness within me. He is wise, talented, humble, kind, and unlike anyone I’ve ever known. His presence gives me courage to become the best version of who I am, and I am endlessly grateful to walk through life beside him. He is my hearts greatest treasure.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes — almost three years ago. I was struggling deeply with depression and anxiety, as so many do. Looking back, I think of it as my awakening. For so much of my life, I felt like I was on autopilot, working hard but forgetting to stop and marvel at the wonders all around me. I hadn’t noticed the lacework of shadows through the leaves, or how a single piece of music can lift you into another world.
That season became a turning point. I began to learn who I truly am and to rediscover joy. I am endlessly thankful for my incredible friends who poured so much light into my life, and for the strong support system that carried me through. Today, I try to live with my eyes wide open, finding beauty in the little things and choosing to celebrate the marvels of being here.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to helping people feel and see the colors of the world that surround them every day. That means giving back to my community, celebrating both big and small wins, spreading kindness and laughter wherever I can, and always choosing growth. Life is about making mistakes, learning from them, and blooming anyway — that’s how we flourish, and that’s the journey I’m devoted to no matter how long it takes.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people will say that I was patient, kind, understanding, passionate, hardworking, and driven. More than anything, I want to be remembered as someone who inspired others to become the best versions of themselves — even those whose paths no longer cross with mine. I believe we should all want the best for one another, to lift each other up and celebrate each other’s victories. Your wins are mine, and mine are yours. If that’s the story people tell when I’m gone, I’ll know I lived my life well.
