Today we’d like to introduce you to Meg Richichi.

Meg Richichi

Hi Meg, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?

As a Women’s Holistic Health Practitioner, I often reflect on how many of us in this field have experienced our own health crises or transformative journeys that sparked our passion for helping others. Well, my journey really began in my teens, during this time I struggled with anorexia, and by my sophomore year in college, bulimia had come into the picture. It was a tough and confusing time in my life, and it wasn’t until my late 20s that I finally gathered the courage to reach out to my primary care physician, Dr. John. He was incredibly supportive and connected me with a wonderful therapist, who then introduced me to a holistic and functional medicine doctor and a nutritional coach. Interestingly, this was back in the early 1980s, which was pretty progressive.

When  I started my health journey, let’s just say I was a bit of a mess—dealing with a whirlwind of gut issues and navigating emotional trauma that felt so BIG. I realized I needed to be open to making some real changes. I decided to lean into this healing process—yeah, the road was bumpy! But I wanted to recover and rebuild a new relationship with food that was nourishing and compassionate.  I started learning how to “sit with my feelings”—discerning between physical and emotional hunger.

Initially, I was mostly plant-based, but over time, I began to include more protein and fish while cutting out gluten and dairy. Those dietary shifts were absolute game-changers for my health. I started feeling more grounded, less anxious, with more energy, and gradually, I became more comfortable in my own skin.

My recovery from an eating disorder was a pivotal moment in my life. It sparked a deep passion for healing and wellness. This journey eventually led me to become a Board-Certified Acupuncturist. A few years into clinical practice, I discovered the “food as medicine” philosophy, which absolutely resonated with my soul. Today, I’m honored to work as a Holistic Women’s Gut-Hormone Health Practitioner and Nutrition-Health Coach. Helping women lean in and navigate their own health journeys is an incredible honor.

Looking back, it’s been an inspiring evolution—full of challenges and triumphs—and I feel deeply grateful every day to do the work I do with women.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve been a Holistic Women’s Health Practitioner & Board Certified Acupuncturist for the past 30 years, and what I do is truly a labor of love. I specialize in helping women who are grappling with challenging health issues like PCOS, infertility, PMS, menopause, digestive problems, autoimmune disorders, and more. My approach is all about being a Women’s Gut-Hormone Health Detective; I dig deep to identify the root causes of why so many women are needlessly struggling with their health. I don’t just chase symptoms—I meet them head-on so women can truly move forward in their lives.

What I’m most proud of is witnessing the incredible transformations of the women I work with. From helping someone overcome 20 years of IBS and debilitating endometriosis, life-threatening breast implant illness, to guiding women through tough journeys like recurring miscarriages and supporting them in having healthy pregnancies after failed IVF cycles—it’s these moments that remind me of why I do what I do. I’m not just addressing conditions; I’m helping women heal and thrive so that they can give birth to the best version of themselves.

What sets me apart from others is my unique “East meets West” approach to health, which has allowed me to assist countless women navigate their diverse health challenges over the years. I also share my knowledge through The Hormone Lifestyle Zone Podcast, where I help women demystify hormonal issues, struggles, and the many things that dance in between, which I refer to as the dust balls of life.

I’m also thrilled to share that I’m currently editing my upcoming book, Gut Health Beyond The Belly, coming later this year! This book is a definitive guide that dives into balancing the microbiome, healing leaky gut, optimizing digestion, and reversing disease through food and supplement strategies, drawing on three decades of experience working with thousands of clients. I want every woman to know that there’s so much more available to them than just conventional options—and I’m here to help women discover their personal path to wellness.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Finding a mentor and networking can make such a difference in one’s professional journey! I recommend starting by reaching out to individuals in your field whose work you admire! Don’t hesitate to introduce yourself and express your interest in learning from them. Attend industry events, webinars, and workshops, where you can meet like-minded professionals. Utilizing platforms like LinkedIn can also be effective; connect with people and engage with their content to start building relationships. In my experience, being genuine and open to conversations has helped me connect with practitioner and people who are eager to share their knowledge. Remember, it’s about building a community rather than just collecting contacts. Whether it’s a casual coffee chat, which is one of my favorite ways to connect or an informational interview, being proactive and approachable can lead to incredible opportunities!
