Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Clark.
Hi Justin , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am a passionate educator and author dedicated to leaving a legacy of hope, inspiration, and boundless imagination for children. Fueled by the desire to bless young minds with the ability to dream beyond what they can see, I drew inspiration from my faith and the deep and lasting impact my parents left on me. With each story, I seek to instill the same values of wonder, courage, and possibility, empowering the next generation to believe in themselves and their dreams. Through writing I hope to inspire children to explore worlds beyond their imagination, just as my family has encouraged me to do.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As Maya Angelou wisely said, “Life ain’t been no crystal stair.” My journey has been marked by challenges like self-doubt, limited resources, heartbreak, and the profound grief of losing both parents suddenly and unexpectedly. Yet, with unwavering faith, the love of family and friends, and the healing power of therapy, I have risen above every obstacle life has placed in my path.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a devoted, passionate educator and author with a deep commitment to helping the youth of tomorrow reach their fullest potential. My greatest joy is guiding young minds to unlock their curiosity and embrace new challenges within a safe, creative, and innovative learning environment. I take pride in teaching children to believe in themselves, building their self-esteem, and nurturing their character. What truly sets me apart is my ability to connect with my students on a personal level, seeing them as whole individuals. By establishing meaningful relationships with their families, I become an integral part of their village, supporting them every step of the way.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I’m definitely an Atlien for sure! Atlanta is a city of boundless opportunities, rich community, and constant change—it’s home. It’s a place where my blackness is celebrated, and where Black boy joy can truly flourish and grow. The only downside? The traffic. Seriously, stop moving here—We full!
