Community Highlights: Meet Zell Gaymon of 44 Media

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zell Gaymon.

Hi Zell, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
44 Media was established in 2024 in response to a growing demand for dynamic, high-quality content. Founder Zell Gaymon, after five years as a freelance videographer capturing everything from indie commercials to interviews and documentaries, recognized a pivotal need in the market. While working on a masterclass project, including its marketing promo, he had an epiphany: in today’s digital-first world, businesses can no longer rely solely on word of mouth. To stand out, they need engaging, professional-grade content.

At 44 Media, we provide a seamless, end-to-end service—handling everything from scripting and filming to social media posting—allowing our clients to focus on what they do best: running their businesses.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s definitely been a journey with its challenges. Even figuring out what to charge for services can be tricky because there’s no standard pricing guide for video work. And when you do find pricing info, the range is all over the place. From what I’ve seen, a lot of videographers undercharge—not because their work isn’t worth more, but because they don’t realize it should be. That makes it tough to justify your prices to clients who might be used to going with the cheapest option.

The reality is, you get what you pay for. A big part of the job is overcoming skepticism from clients who’ve had bad experiences with unprofessional videographers or content agencies. It’s an uphill battle, but we’re committed to showing the value of quality work.

We’ve been impressed with 44 Media, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At 44 Media, we’re all about helping businesses shine in the digital world. We specialize in creating high-quality, engaging video content that tells your brand’s story and connects with your audience. From scripting and filming to editing and even posting on social media, we handle it all so our clients can focus on running their business.

What sets us apart is our “done-for-you” approach. We don’t just produce videos—we craft tailored content strategies designed to deliver results. Whether it’s promotional videos, educational content, or branded storytelling, we ensure every project reflects the unique voice and goals of the client.

We’re proud of the relationships we build and the trust we’ve earned by consistently delivering work that exceeds expectations. Brand-wise, we’re driven by a commitment to professionalism, creativity, and quality. For us, it’s not just about making great videos; it’s about empowering businesses to stand out in today’s competitive market.

If there’s one thing we’d love readers to know, it’s that we’re here to make their lives easier. With 44 Media, they get more than a service—they get a partner who’s invested in their success.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
If you’re just starting out, here’s the best advice I can give: start before you feel ready. The timing will never be perfect, so don’t wait—take the leap and learn as you go.

Focus on practicing your craft relentlessly. Hone your skills, and don’t shy away from doing free or low-cost work in the beginning to build a strong portfolio. Those early projects will not only sharpen your abilities but also showcase what you’re capable of.

Seek mentorship. Someone out there has already walked the path you’re on, and learning from their experience can save you years of trial and error. With a little research and initiative, you can find mentors who are willing to share their knowledge and help you grow.

And don’t forget to pray! Lean into your faith or personal source of strength. The excitement of starting something new will carry you for a while, but when doubt, adversity, or tough times come, you’ll need that foundation to keep going.

Finally, consistency is key. Motivation is great, but it’s fleeting. Showing up and doing the work every day, even when you don’t feel like it, is what truly leads to success.
