Today we’d like to introduce you to Haley Muhammad.
Hi Haley, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember — music has always been my outlet for expressing what words alone couldn’t. I started as a little girl singing in church and went on to join gospel, concert, and show choir throughout high school. Those experiences built my confidence as a performer and deepened my love for music. I auditioned for The Voice during this time and received a callback, which reminded me that this was truly my purpose despite not making the show. After high school, I had some vocal training in college and continued writing songs, something I’ve done since my teenage years and I got better the more and more I kept at it.
I started out as Yelah, but after finding another artist with that name, I rebranded to BreAmore — a name that represents love, growth, and authenticity. Around 2021–2022, I signed to an indie label called Bottom 9 Records, but since then, I’ve chosen to stay fully independent to develop my artistry on my own terms. My biggest inspirations include Brandy, Jhené Aiko, Tink, and Bryson Tiller — artists who balance emotion, storytelling, and versatility, which are qualities I strive to bring to my own sound. Over time, I began fusing rap with R&B to show different sides of myself — confident, emotional, and real.
Now, as I continue growing as an artist, I’m preparing to release my latest project, Mood Swings, dropping November 22. The project captures the range of emotions and experiences that have shaped me — from heartbreak and healing to confidence and self-love. This is just the beginning of what’s next for BreAmore, and I’m excited to keep evolving and connecting through my music. I’m currently based in Chicago, IL.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, I even took down my entire catalog one night out of frustration just ready to give up, but making that decision has led to some amazing opportunities for me especially when it comes to standing firm in my passion. every obstacle has shaped me into the artist I am today. From rebranding after discovering another artist with my first name to getting scammed, led on by A&Rs, so many no’s, closed doors, even missed opportunities on my own behalf just because of finances. I’ve had to learn a lot about self-belief, discipline, and balance. There were times I doubted myself or felt unseen, but music always pulled me back. The challenges — remind me of my resilience and reminded me why I started. I’ve learned that the hard moments are what give my music its depth and honesty.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a singer, songwriter, and rapper who goes by the name BreAmore based in Chicago,Il . My sound lives between R&B and trapsoul — soulful, honest, and emotional, but with edge and confidence. I use my music to tell stories about love, growth, pain, and some fun vibes too — everything that makes us human. I think what people connect to most is the versatility in my music. I don’t sugarcoat my emotions in this space and it’s where I’m the most free,
I’m most proud of how far I’ve come independently. From singing in a closet because I was too shy, to writing songs in my bedroom, to performing on stages, festivals, having writing opportunities to even one of my songs being featured in a film, to preparing to drop my latest project, Mood Swings, on November 22. Sometimes I forget how far I’ve come and it’s been a rewarding journey thus far. What sets me apart is my ability to blend vulnerability with confidence — I can give you something soulful and raw, but also something that makes you feel something. I have a song for everyone and that’s what sets me apart.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Best food without question.
Downtown Chicago is superior for scenery for late night drives on lakeshore, vibes by the lake or dates you can always find something to do. I definitely least like the traffic. If you know….you know….
