We’re looking forward to introducing you to Lia The Sunstar. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Lia The Sunstar, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I am being called to leave Corporate America and believe in myself as an entrepreneur. I have been running my brand as Lia the Sunstar for 10 years now working as an astrologer, spiritual advisor, and spiritual practitioner but I was afraid to give it 100% of my time and effort commitment. However, becoming a 1st time mother in 2024 to a handsome little boy and the economy in 2025 has changed all of that for me.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Lia The Sunstar — a psychic medium, 2nd-generation astrologer, sound healer, 6th-generation herbalist, and spiritual business strategist dedicated to helping others reconnect with their divine power and purpose. I’ve been spiritually gifted since birth and began studying astrology at the age of six. Over time, my path evolved into a full-fledged calling that now blends ancient wisdom with modern strategy, bridging the spiritual and practical worlds so people can heal, manifest, and thrive in alignment with who they truly are.
My brand, Lia The Sunstar, is more than a business — it’s a movement centered around spiritual empowerment, ancestral healing, and conscious manifestation. I’m a certified Hoodoo and Conjure practitioner, a certified Sound Bath Healer, and an initiated priestess in an African Traditional Religion. Every offering I create — whether it’s an astrology reading, a sound healing session, a ritual service, or a digital course — carries both energetic precision and cultural authenticity.
What makes my work unique is that I bring my full self to the table: the intuitive priestess, the professional social worker, and the seasoned analyst. I’ve spent over a decade in the corporate world as a Senior Business Analyst, so I understand systems, structure, and strategy just as much as I understand spirit, vibration, and energy. That balance allows me to help people and brands bridge the unseen with the seen — transforming spiritual insight into tangible success.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding Lia The Sunstar into a multi-million-dollar spiritual brand through digital education, spiritual and astrological advisement, and client-based ritual work that merges ancestral wisdom, astrology, and sound healing. My mission is to show that spirituality and prosperity are not opposites — they are reflections of divine alignment.
At the core of it all, I’m building a legacy that proves spirituality isn’t just sacred — it’s strategic. When you master both, you unlock limitless prosperity.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that has served its purpose is my sense of loyalty and duty to corporate America — the version of me that poured her energy, brilliance, and creativity into building wealth and structure for companies that would never truly value or reciprocate the energy invested. That part of me was necessary for a season because it taught me discipline, business acumen, and how to navigate systems of power.
But that season is complete. I’ve outgrown the need to validate myself through traditional success or corporate titles. Now, I’m choosing to direct that same excellence, strategy, and visionary energy into building my own legacy — one that not only sustains me but uplifts my community, honors my ancestors, and creates generational impact.
I no longer feel obligated to contribute my light to systems that don’t see it. My new loyalty is to divine purpose, spiritual freedom, and the empire I’m building as Lia The Sunstar — where my work circulates wealth, healing, and transformation among the people it was meant to serve.
I’ve traded loyalty to corporations for loyalty to my calling — because my purpose is the most profitable investment I’ll ever make.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that has held me back the most is the fear of financial instability — the thought of being unable to provide for myself and my 14-month-old child. As a woman with years of education, certifications, and corporate experience, it’s humbling to admit that even with all of that, the economy and systemic disparities still make stability feel uncertain.
As a Black woman, I’m acutely aware that we are among the highest groups impacted by unemployment and underemployment in America. That reality can create a deep-rooted anxiety — the internal voice that says, “If I don’t have that paycheck every two weeks, I won’t survive.” For a long time, that fear kept me tethered to environments that didn’t honor my spirit, simply because they offered a sense of safety.
But fear can also be a teacher. Over time, I realized that my attachment to the paycheck was really an attachment to a false sense of security. True stability comes from alignment — not employment. The moment I began to trust my own gifts, my connection to Spirit, and the vision I’ve been called to build, that fear started to lose its power.
Now, instead of asking, “What if I fail?” I ask, “What if I fly?” I’m choosing faith over fear, knowing that the same energy that once kept me small is now the fuel that propels my expansion.
I no longer chase paychecks — I attract prosperity, because my purpose is my payroll and faith is my funding.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
A belief I am deeply committed to is teaching others that we carry divine power in our very bloodlines — power that can shape the present and create the future we desire. We are not meant to live passively, waiting for life to happen or for blessings to find us. We are co-creators with God.
My mission is to help people remember that prayer is only one part of the process — the next step is declaration, alignment, and embodiment. We can speak life into our desires, call our manifestations into being, and walk as if they already exist. That’s how we activate the spiritual technology that’s been within us all along.
No matter how long it takes, I’ll continue to teach this truth — that our ancestors didn’t just survive by faith; they manifested by power. And it’s time for us to reclaim that same authority and create the lives we were destined to live.
Faith is the seed, but action and alignment are the sunlight — that’s how prayers grow roots. I don’t wait for miracles — I command them, because the divine in me answers when I speak.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
If you had asked me this before 2025, I would have said I was mainly doing what I was told to do full-time — and what I was born to do part-time. But now, I’m in a transition that’s really more of a transformation. Some might call it a building phase, but truthfully, I’ve been building since 2022 — brick by brick, belief by belief.
I was raised to think success meant working a stable job, collecting benefits, and retiring one day. That narrative was passed down with love and good intentions, but it wasn’t designed for someone like me — someone called to create, heal, and lead. For years, I told myself that entrepreneurship was “too hard” or “too unstable,” but I’ve come to realize that was a false story rooted in fear, not faith.
Now, I’m rewriting that story. I believe more deeply in my God-given gifts than I ever have before. I know that my destiny isn’t limited to a paycheck or a title — it’s about purpose, impact, and alignment.
I’m no longer working for a company’s vision; I’m building my own. And that, to me, is what true legacy looks like.
