Savannah Bailey shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Savannah, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
I lose track of time when I’m antiquing or traveling. As an interior designer, those experiences really recharge my creativity. Exploring antique shops or new places exposes me to unique textures, colors, and stories that spark new ideas. It’s in those moments that I find fresh inspiration for upcoming projects, store layouts, and creative design solutions. Those experiences remind me why I love what I do and help me think outside the box.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Savannah and I’m an interior designer and small business owner in North Georgia. I own Consign & Design Interiors in Flowery Branch, GA- which is an amazing furniture and antique consignment store. I also own Martin Furniture & Design on the historic downtown Gainesville, GA square. This store features new luxury furniture and decor and is home to some of the area’s top interior designers.
Aside from owning and operating the stores, I work alongside a diverse group of private and commercial clients to create spaces they love that are as unique as they are. I’m passionate about helping others bring their perfect vision for their environment to life.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My mom taught me the most about work. She was a small business owner and entrepreneur who raised three kids on her own after being widowed at 32. Watching her build and run her companies while balancing motherhood showed me what resilience, dedication, and strong work ethic truly look like. She taught me that success isn’t just about hard work-it’s also about adaptability, perseverance, and leading with heart.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to trust the process and have confidence that every challenge is leading somewhere meaningful. You don’t have to have it all figured out right away- just keep showing up, stay curious, and believe that your hard work and creativity will take you exactly where you’re meant to be.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
No, the public version of me isn’t entirely the real me. On social media, I may come across as outgoing and confident, but in reality, I’m a very private person who struggles with social anxiety and tends to avoid a lot of interaction. Social media has become a bit of a buffer- it allows me to express creativity and share my work while still protecting my personal life. It’s actually helped me create a sense of balance and self-preservation between my public presence and my real, more introverted self.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m with my two girls at the beach, with no phone and nothing on the agenda- just the sound of the waves, sand under our feet, and time to be fully present together. Those slow, unplanned moments remind me of what really matters and help me recharge creatively and emotionally.
