Story & Lesson Highlights with Rocklyn Williams Jr of Conyers (Rockdale County)

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Rocklyn Williams Jr. Check out our conversation below.

Rocklyn, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your customers?
Over time I’ve noticed many of my customers have similar vibes. They all cool, understanding, real, and down to earth. Love working with people like that.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m from Baltimore born and raised and currently reside in Georgia. I mobile detail and started Rocks Mobile Detailing in 2022. I really enjoy what I do and that’s bringing cars back to life inside & out.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I’ll go all the way back to elementary school. I always did pretty good in class, but never did my homework. If I’m not mistaken in 2nd grade I think I did not one homework assignment. I was a video game junkie and that’s all I did soon as I came in straight from school. It was bad to the point it caused me to fail 2nd grade. I couldn’t believe it that I was held back with kids I didn’t know whole time watching all my classmates go to the next grade. It really bothered me when I watched them graduate from 5th grade to middle school and I was still there lol, but failing actually motivated me. From that point I went even harder becoming an honor roll student up to then being accepted into an engineering high school. Now I try not to half step with anything I’m dealing with.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
When I was younger I had a tendency of dumbing myself down just to fit in and be around the people I was with. Knowing that I could be doing certain things at 100% and I didn’t just so I wouldn’t leave situations where I was at or anybody behind. I don’t know why. Maybe it was some type of survivor’s guilt?…im not sure, but that’s definitely one thing I wish I didn’t do. I wish I could tell my younger self to do everything to the max and with no regrets, but then at the same time everything happens for a reason. It’s meant for me to be where I’m at today.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes the public version of me is me everyday. I’m the same when I’m out detailing and if I see somebody if I’m just out. Only thing is I’m not a morning person lol, so far as that it can take me a minute to get the wheels rolling when I’m up and out early. I always been nocturnal long as I can remember.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
I think they would miss the consistency that I bring each time. Them just knowing that when they step in there vehicle when I’m done not only it’s clean, but feels clean. That they can count on it each and every time. I would also add the dependability. I’ve had some customers that usually get there vehicle detailed while at work, but at times might need to switch up and get it done at home. If that was the case I would still show up being prompt and get them right despite if it was further or not.
