Today we’d like to introduce you to Paola Martinez Rios.

Hi Paola, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started acting when I was 12. My best friend made me audition with her for a competitive acting interscholastic category and I got hooked! I competed in acting all throughout my childhood in a small town called Princeton, Texas. I wanted change and started veterinarian studies in college where I was 1 long semester from starting applications for vet school, but had a calling to take one more acting class.
That one acting class opened doors to many theatre opportunities, and a scholarship to a BFA Acting Program where I relocated to Missouri. I studied overseas in London at Theatre Academy London and knew it was time to dive into TV and film.
I was set to move to Atlanta as soon as I graduated in 2020, but the pandemic had other plans. I moved back to Texas and through many twist and turns learned the trade of home remodeling and marketing. I was able to save up to move to Atlanta with my partner in 2023.
Since being Atlanta I have continued my acting training with incredible teachers that have taught me so much about the TV and film industry. They have kept me positive in enjoying the ride. Just last month I made my TV debut on ABC’s Season 4 of Will Trent as Honor, Will Trent’s half sister.
Today I am continuing my acting journey and excited about doing more indie projects!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Road has had a lot of exits, detours, and redirects.

As a first generation latina, there is the weight on your shoulders of wanting a better life for your family, but also following a passion. Sometimes those two things feel like they don’t parallel. I have always enjoying TV & film, but unfortunately I had very limited amounts of inspirations to look up to. I never felt the way media portrayed latina’s so I questioned if my dreams were too big or unrealistic.
Self-doubt is a constant hurtle, but through it all I have always known that I love acting, and that’s always been enough of a reason to not give up.

As you know, we’re big fans of pmiscmedia. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
While I’m not on set, in classes, or working on my materials you can find me in front of my computer editing content, scheduling post, making note of analytics, and coming up with more creative ways to reach homeowners.
During my exits and detours I managed to get into home remodeling and fell in love with the creativity that marketing brought. I used my photography experience and content creation practices from my tiktok days to help with reach. Since then I’ve expanded into website and Google Ad analytics. My home services expertise has given me a competitive edge in retargeting ads through Meta.
Today I help businesses with digital marketing in many different way through my business pmiscmedia.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I remember desperately wanting a little sister. I am the youngest of 5, and when I was 10 we were blessed with my niece. I remember so vividly coming home from school. I got my Fruity Pebbles ready to watch my afternoon cartoons on WB Kids when one of my sisters came in to tell me that my OTHER sister was in labor. Holding my niece for the first time was one of the best memories ever. It often brings tears to my eyes knowing I was holding my best friend and I didn’t know it yet!
