Meet Tanyah Anderson of Peach Paw Collective

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanyah Anderson.

Hi Tanyah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started out as an actor, which as many people know usually comes with a rotation of part-time jobs. Over the years I worked as a substitute teacher for Atlanta Public Schools, taught acting classes, hosted at a restaurant, and even managed at a hot yoga studio. Somewhere along the way, I picked up pet sitting casually.

A fellow yogi friend eventually asked me to cover some of her pet sitting clients, and I quickly realized how much I enjoyed it. Caring for animals and building relationships with pet parents just clicked for me.

In December of 2024, I lost my aunt, who was very precious to me. Losing her was the beginning of a period where I felt so lost and unsure of what direction I was supposed to take. At the beginning of 2025, while I was working as a substitute teacher at an elementary school, I was already debating whether it was time to move on and pursue something of my own. Then, out of nowhere, a soccer ball from a very enthusiastic six-year-old came flying straight to my head. Outside of that kid clearly having a bright future in soccer, the resulting concussion gave me some unexpected clarity. I like to joke that it was my aunt sending a message to my stubborn Taurus self to finally go for it.

I have always wanted to run a business, and I started noticing more and more actors creating their own paths outside of the industry. I thought, why not me? Within a week, I decided to leave substitute teaching and reached out to my existing pet sitting clients to let them know I was launching my own full-time pet care business.

What started as something casual quickly became something I felt deeply passionate about. Today I get to care for animals, support pet parents, and build something that is truly my own.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Smooth? I’m not sure I know what that word means in the context of starting a business. There’s a saying that anything worth doing takes patience and work, and that has definitely been true for me.

This all started during a time when I was recovering from a concussion and grieving the loss of my aunt, while also trying to figure out how to build something sustainable for myself. On the practical side, there were endless decisions and things to learn.

How do I structure a business? What makes Peach Paw Collective different? What kind of branding feels authentic? Which CRM platform should I use to manage bookings and client communication? I didn’t even know there were pet care specific CRM platforms at first. Then there were things like insurance, forming my LLC, and all the logistics that come with running a legitimate business.

I’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way, and I’m sure I’ll keep making them. But strangely, I love the process. There’s something really satisfying about building something piece by piece. I enjoy researching the tools that help create a better experience for my clients and their pets, and experimenting with systems until I find what works best. For me, the challenge has been part of the reward.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Peach Paw Collective?
Beyond Pet Sitting. Curated Pet Staycations.

Peach Paw Collective was created to give pets an experience as special as a mini vacation without ever leaving their own home. We offer dog walking, cat drop-ins, day care, and overnight stays, all tailored to each pet’s personality and routine. Our goal is simple: make pets happy, make parents relaxed, and add a little fun along the way.

What sets us apart is the attention we put into every detail. From the first in-person consultation to the staycation itself, every visit is curated to feel personal, playful, and memorable. We even celebrate milestones, such as a pet’s first PPC staycation, with a keepsake to remember the moment.

I love creating these experiences. Our clients’ pets are not just being watched; they are being celebrated, entertained, and treated to moments they and their parents will always remember.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a bit of a wallflower, always lost in a book or watching K-dramas long before the craze hit America. I loved imagining different worlds and stories, and that curiosity has never left me.

I came alive on stage and later on film. Acting gave me a love for diving into a character, collaborating with others, and being fully present in the moment. Maybe that is why I fell in love with experiences. It is all about living fully, and that is exactly what I aim to do for the pets I care for.

Speaking of experiences, I love exploring them in all forms. It is my favorite type of dopamine. Live music, theater, art, traveling, trying yoga in different studios, making crafts for the first time, and hosting dinner parties all energize me. I am drawn to moments that are engaging, personal, and full of life, and that curiosity fuels both my work and my everyday adventures.
